Sermon Title: Parents who care for their children the most
Word: 1 Samuel 1:10-20
0. Introduction
Today is the 7th anniversary of the founding of Hanshin Church. It is also observed as Children's Day. Although Hanshin Church is a 7-year-old child, I sincerely hope that it will become a church that can grow beautifully as a dream tree of the future Korean church under God's blessing. Home is the only place where we humans can enjoy a cozy rest on this earth. We feel cozy and comfortable at home, not because the house is beautiful, nor because of the table with the seafood. And not because of the beautiful music and the soft lights. The reason why a home is a cozy haven is because there is a mother there. Samuel's mother, Hannah, who appears in today's sermon, is a woman that many parents envy. Because she rebuilt a crumbling family and raised her son to be one of the most important figures in Israeli history. It is said that the most difficult thing in the world is the education of children. It means that even if you do your best to raise your children, it is difficult to raise them as you set your mind to. But how did Hannah restore her family and raise her children splendidly?
In reality, there has never been a woman as unhappy as Hannah. We live in a truly turbulent time. At the end of the period of the Judges, confusion continued, and religious leaders like Eli could not stand upright and receive God's word, so they were spiritually confused. In this age of spiritual chaos, Hannah was an unhappy woman who could not have children. Having no children, the husband became interested in another woman, and eventually got a child from another woman. Peninnah, who had a child through her husband's affair, entered the bedroom and stabbed Hannah's weakness and made her suffer. As a woman, there is no sorrow more than this. I sincerely hope that it will be a precious time for Hannah, who has such scars and bitter pains, to realize the spiritual secret that made her a great mother by restoring her broken family and giving birth to children like Samuel.
1. Without giving up or getting frustrated, all problems were solved through prayer.
The secret to Hannah's restoration of her family and her ability to raise her children well was that she did not give up or despaired, even in the midst of really difficult circumstances, and solved her dire problems through prayer. It is not his appearance or learning that we care about her. Because she was a person of prayer, and through prayer she overcame difficult circumstances. Through prayer, she poured out all her feelings to God. If you don't process your accumulated emotions, you become sick. Bad feelings are something that must be dealt with. Therefore, there are many people who suffer more from pouring out their emotions well.
Hannah handled her feelings well through prayer. Prayer is the task of killing me and changing my heart with the heart of God. Therefore, mothers who have children must influence their children through prayer. Hannah filled her emptiness and emptiness with the hope of God through prayer. The Bible testifies that after praying Hannah's face disappeared (verse 18). There is no failure for those who solve any difficulties through prayer. Through Hannah's prayer, Samuel was born, and he was able to grow as a person of prayer, and he was able to live according to God's will until the end. Influenced by Hannah, who was a praying mother, Samuel lived with a confession that he would not commit the sin of ceasing to pray for the rest of his life. In order to raise your own son to be a son of prayer, you must set an example of prayer like Hannah.
2. You have chosen the best education for your child.
Hannah knew what it was like to truly love a child. What kind of child was Samuel to Hannah? He was the son who relieved his pain, the son who was miraculously begotten in an impossible place, and the living evidence of answers to prayers. You cannot entrust your child's education to anyone. So she entrusted her son to a teacher who has the will and ability to take care of him with the wisest and most certainty in the world. who is he It is God. She entrusted Samuel's education to God. Spiritually dormant parents entrust their children where they should not be. But Hannah knew what the source of wisdom was, and she knew where the blessing was. So I took a spiritual interest in my children. Hannah left Samuel completely, not partially, to God. Religious education was our top priority. When parents truly entrust their children to God, God takes charge of their children's lives.
3. Maintain a close relationship with your child.
Also, if you want to raise your children as children of blessing, you should be interested in building your self-esteem. Self-esteem can be described as a bundle of memories about yourself among the many things you experience from birth. Children with healthy self-esteem and positive attitudes are more constructive in dealing with many of the things they are going through. People who are easily frustrated or discouraged, who are negative, and who are good at criticizing others, are those who inherited very low self-esteem from their parents. If we inevitably inherited low self-esteem from our earthly parents, we sincerely hope that we can restore our precious self-esteem from our Heavenly Father.
