Title: Pathway of Holiness/Mark 1:21-28
Content Pathway of Holiness/Mark 1:21 - 28
In the Bible, the word holy means to set apart and separate from the common. The Old Testament says that there is only God like this. However, the New Testament teaches that Jesus Christ, the God who came into this world, also received that disposition. In today's text, even demons acknowledge this aspect. That's why he shows his protest against Jesus Christ, who came to destroy him.
There were people who wanted to live with these qualities. They are Pharisees. The word Pharisees also has the meaning of set apart. They wanted to be separated from the unclean and unclean and lead a clean and pure life. In this respect, they were those who tried to live in imitation of God's holiness. But they have a problem with constantly trying to separate and separate themselves.
On the other hand, Jesus Christ was the source of holiness, but he was close to sinners who were unclean and unclean. Because he tried to make them holy by his own holiness. This is what sets it apart from the tradition of the Pharisees. Jesus Christ was a separate person, but he did not live a separate life, but was the one who imparted his holiness to those in need. Through this, He was the One who cleanses the filth of this world and purifies the unclean.
Even today, evil spirits are making our lives unclean and unclean. This appears as a very primitive way of suffering from being possessed by ghosts, but it is also well shown through the ego of civilization today. This means that we are living in the grip of more and more evil spirits because of the increasingly selfish, money-worshipping false capitalism. In such a society, as those who have received the Spirit of holiness from Jesus Christ, we should carry out our responsibilities well. It can also be said that this is the role of light and salt.
