Title: Peace of Mind./Matthew 11:28-30.
Content (Introduction)
This verse we read is a verse that all Christians enjoy and recite.
(Matthew 11:28) Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:29) Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and your hearts will be at rest (Matthew 11) :30) For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
However, there are few words that are as misunderstood as this one.
Today, while examining the words of this text, we are trying to obtain peace of mind and true rest according to the word of the Lord's promise in verse 29, "---then you will find rest." do.
(Main subject)
As we read the Word of God in this text today, the first sense we feel is the words, “O you who labor and are heavy laden,” and think that there are many people in this world who work hard and carry the heavy burden of life. can have,
We do not know what kind of burden it is, but it is a fact that in this world we live in, there are various burdens of life.
All religions in the world acknowledge that heavy burden.
That's why in Buddhism, life is called - a difficult, spicy, and laborious sea, right? - Thinking that confession is a karma given to me - It is inevitable now, and from now on, let's build up a lot of merits so that we can have some peace in the world to be born next - is their religious doctrine. - Other 如他 religions are similar.
But our Lord is very actively presenting the solution to those who carry the heavy burden of life -
If we take a closer look at that method,
First ; It is the fact that everyone comes to Jesus.
If we look at these words more positively, it is saying that there is a way for all people who live with heavy burdens in this world to be freed from the burden of life if they come to Jesus.
So, the first thing we need to do is to say that all of us who are burdened with the burden of life must come to Jesus and meet Jesus.
Of course, you can only meet Jesus when you go to church - but that doesn't mean that you can meet Jesus just because you come to the chapel.
There are many things in the market, but just because I go to the market, the things in the market do not become mine. It is the fact that I can only meet Jesus when I come to church and truly confess Jesus as my Savior.
In other words, when there is a sincere confession that says that I have given up the life I have lived up to now, and only the Lord is my master and king, and now I depend on the Lord for all of my life, and when there is a change of life It is the fact that we can only meet the Lord.
It is a fact that there are countless non-believers in the churches of this world who have been going to the chapel for decades because this can not be done, of course, our church believes that there is no such person.
The second ; It is the fact that we need to learn how to find rest by meeting Jesus.
(Matthew 11:28) Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
How do you get it to rest after you've done it?
(Matthew 11:29) Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
He says, "---Take my yoke upon you and deliver it to me."
Coming to Jesus does not mean that the heavy burdens in my life will not be lifted, and I am not saying that Jesus will bear the burdens for me. I can see you clamoring for pain
The Lord has clearly told us, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me.”
And we often confuse a yoke with a load---it's not really a load, but a yoke is a tool to carry a load easily.
A yoke is a convenient tool designed for plowing a field by an ox or horse or to easily pull a heavy-loaded cart.
What is the burden our Lord must carry and carry?
The cross is a burden. - It is the most grievous and cruel burden in the world. It is not a burden that the Lord must bear. - From our human eyes, it is an unfair burden. So it's even heavier.
So, it is telling us to learn how to bear the burden by looking at how he bore the burden of suffering on the cross.
The Lord says that He took the burden of that cross under the yoke of meekness and humility.
The meaning of the words in this section is a bit difficult, so I will explain them in an easy way.
It means that he carried the burden of suffering on the cross without any remorse. - It is a message that He carried and dragged the burden of the cross with a heart that said, “I will take it with gratitude because it is a burden that God has given me.
Let me explain it a little easier.
There will be many difficulties in life we live in this world - but even if it is a burden of the same weight, if I carry it for the sake of the one I love, it will not be heavy, but I will happily bear it. .
However, if I think that I am carrying this burden for nothing, it is the fact that moving one foot is as heavy as a thousand miles.
It is the fact that our Lord quietly carried the burden of sin that our lives are carrying, as if he was carrying the burden that you ought to bear.
This is the fact that the Lord is calling us to learn, when we bear the burdens of our lives with such boldness, naturalness, and rather joy.
How do you say it is? - Take a look.
“---Then your hearts will be at rest” This is the word that peace will come to your heart, that you can live your life of faith with joy, and that peace overflows from the heart that the Lord gives that no one in the world has.
It is saying that we can become faithful deacons, elders, and pastors, and that we can all become victorious through faith. It means that you can become a believer who is beautiful in the eyes of the Lord and becomes a light to the world.
While we are living our religious life, sometimes we feel that we are unfair. There are times when we wonder why this has to happen to me and why do I have to bear this burden.
Dear classmates!
If we choose to be injustice, is there anyone more injustice than our Lord Jesus?
Are you a fool who doesn't know what injustice is? - No - Jesus, who made the heavens and the earth, killed himself and gave himself up to death for us, not silently giving or giving in order to accomplish God's will.
In Matthew 16, the Lord tells His followers to
(Matthew 16:24) Then Jesus said to his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
.The Lord is calling us to follow us in the way that He bore our burdens on the cross.
So, the apostles including Peter, who realized the truth of these words,
(Acts 5:41) And the apostles left the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy of reproach for his name's sake.
It is said that he did not feel any resentment or resentment because of the hardships that came on this earth. Rather, he endured the afflictions that came with joy. - It means that he had peace in his heart. - The peace that the world did not know from our Lord, the pillar of the vine, was overflowing. Word.
In Philippians 4:4-7, the apostle Paul writes to the Philippian brothers in tribulation and suffering:
(Philippians 4:4) Rejoice in the Lord always, I say again, rejoice (Philippians 4:5) Let your generosity be known to all, for the Lord is near (Philippians 4:6) With supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God (Philippians 4:7), and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
To the believer who accepts difficult circumstances with meekness and humility and lives instead with thanksgiving - Verse-7, then the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
It is said that the mind finds rest,
It means that your heart is filled with the peace that God gives you.
During that time, every time we prayed, we prayed that we would be with us on this earth a little longer. In particular, the prayers of our priests who offered earnest prayers, risking their tired bodies at every morning prayer meeting, seemed to grieve the pastor's heart.
However, God, who surpasses all understanding, calls Master Kwon first, not because he turns away from our prayers, but believes that it is because God's economy that works together for good, though we do not know it all, is in him--- we are all In the same way, I pray in the name of the Lord that the peace of heart that the Lord gives us, as we deeply understand how to bear the burdens of life that the Lord has made known to us, rest upon all our church members and elders' families.
(Let's pray)
