Contents Peace of mind (John 14:27)
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.
things do not give as the world gives; let not your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
not” (John 14:27)
The rich man lived a luxurious life with a lot of money, but his heart was always anxious and anxious. After deliberation, he bought a painting that gave him peace of mind at a great price. Among the many paintings, the rich man chose the painting of a robin bird nesting in a tree that stretched out in a crevice of a cliff where unexpectedly a huge waterfall cascades down and lays eggs without any worries. Where can we find true peace of mind that is not shaken under any circumstances?
1. Covetousness and peace of mind
1) The Adam couple in the Garden of Eden lost their peace after the devil put their greed in them.
“The Lord God planted a garden in Eden in the east, and the man whom he had formed
put them there” (Genesis 2:8).
2) Jesus did not lose his peace of mind because he had no greed. (Phil 2:6-7)
3) If you have self-control, thanksgiving, and joy in what you have, you will avoid resentment, envy, jealousy, and
You will be freed from anger and regain your peace of mind.
“Rejoice in the Lord always, I say again, rejoice, for your generosity
Make it known to all, for the Lord is near.
And in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving for your requests, God
tell the Lord, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds in water” (Philippians 4:4-7).
2. Guilt and peace of mind
1) When you know God's commandments and break them, you suffer from the pain of conscience. (Romans 7:22-24)
2) There is never peace in the evil heart that violates the will of God.
“There is no peace with the wicked, says the Lord” (Isaiah 48:22).
3) A sinful soul suffers from guilt and trembles with anxiety and fear. repent of sins
You must be forgiven through the blood of Jesus to restore righteousness and enjoy peace.

and will cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

“God, who is rich in mercy, has given us the great love he has for us.
who made us alive together with Christ, who were dead in trespasses,
have been saved” (Ephesians 2:4-5)
3. Right relationship with God
1) We believe that God is the Creator and the ruler of history who rules the world. (Isa 37:16)
2) God insists on life and death and is the absolute sovereign. (1 Samuel 2:6-7)
“Your is the greatness, and the power and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty, O LORD.
Come, everything in heaven and on earth is yours. The sovereignty belongs to you, O LORD.
For you are exalted, the head of all. Wealth and ears come from you.
And the Lord is lord over all, and in his hand is power and might;
It is in Your hand to make great and to make strong” (1 Chronicles 29:11-12).
3) There is no peace where God is ignored or rebelled. Fear and praise God
Peace is given to those who love and give thanks for grace. (Jeremiah 2:19)
“Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain, and the LORD
Unless you guard the city, the watchman's watch is in vain.
It is in vain to get up and go to bed late, to eat the bread of toil.
The Lord gives sleep to those he loves” (Psalm 127:1-2).
“You heaven, be amazed at this, tremble greatly, and be afraid!
Two evils have my people done, says the LORD: a fountain of living water.
I abandoned myself as I am, and I dug a cistern for myself, which saves water.
It is a broken cistern” (Jeremiah 2:12-13).
4. Proper Relations with Neighbors
1) If there is a quarrel with parents at home, quarrels with spouses, children, or quarrels with close neighbors
peace of mind is broken (Proverbs 19:26, Ephesians 6:4, Col 3:18-19)
“Hate stirs up strife, but love covers all transgression” (Proverbs 10:12).
2) In a legal relationship, the peace is broken by stripping, scratching, and trampling the other party. (James 4:1, 1 Peter 2:1)
3) A gracious relationship covers, heals, washes, and revives the other person's faults.
Peace comes when we can trust each other and live together. (1 Peter 4:8)
“Pursue peace with all men and holiness, without which nothing
You will not see the Lord. Look back and fall short of the grace of God.
Fear of whether there is anyone, and a bitter root sprouts up to trouble, and many
lest he be defiled by this” (Hebrews 12:14-15)
In order to obtain peace of mind, we must always have close fellowship with God through the Word, prayer, meditation, hymns, and worship. And only when we are wary of sin and worldly greed and constantly strive for good human relationships can we live with the true peace of mind that Jesus gives us.
