peace of mind

'Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest' This is a very famous saying. Perhaps it is because of the comfort these words give. However, what the text wants to say is different from our expectations. When we look at the text, it is easy to quickly expect that 'Jesus is trying to carry my burden'. Because he said, 'I will give you rest.' However, in verse 29, the promise of 'lost instead of' does not appear. Rather, He says, 'Take my yoke upon you and learn from me.' It's a situation where you have to put one more load on your luggage. So, the text says that I will teach you how to carry the burden, not that I will bear the burden.

Consider the case of carrying a load. When carrying a backpack, we think that heavy things should be placed underneath. But if you put something heavy underneath, it takes a lot more force because that weight carries the person back. It is most convenient to carry the load on the shoulder. If possible, try to rise above the shoulder line and press the shoulder. If you grab it from behind, it grabs your waist, making it more difficult to balance the body that is about to become disordered.

Jesus said, 'Take my yoke upon you and learn from me' in order to find rest. 'Then your hearts will find rest.' It is not that the burden you are carrying becomes easy, but that you can rest your mind. How does Jesus give us rest?

Jesus says, 'My yoke is easy and my burden is light'. But is that really the case? As we well know, the cross was a burden heavy enough to pray for it to be taken up three times. Also, the punishment of the cross itself was a dreadful and terrifying punishment. And the crucifix itself was heavy and huge. In the end, even though Simon of Cyrene is heavy enough to carry because he cannot bear it, Jesus is saying, 'My yoke is easy and my burden is light.' What does this mean? Jesus' words are not about the burden itself, but about the attitude of bearing the burden. As Jesus bears his 'yoke and burden' as a way to solve our toil and heavy burdens, he says, 'I am meek and humble in heart.' Jesus 'didn't feel sorry' for the burden he had carried on himself

What is the heaviest and most difficult burden we carry? Maybe it's a feeling of regret in my heart? No matter how much money you spend on your children, it is not wasted. But it's a waste of thousands of dollars for things you don't want to do. 'To be miserable' will be the greatest burden on believers. If you get rid of that chagrin, the burden will disappear. Why do you feel sad? It's because of the thought, 'It's not something I'm going to suffer, but I'm going to do it'. However, there is nothing unfair about what believers meet. What did Jesus call us to? Let us look at the path of faith that is required of us.

“Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24).

To deny yourself is shameful. The most difficult and difficult conflict for believers in their religious life is the most intense confrontation with a person's original sinful nature. On the one hand, there is a conflict between living for God and on the other hand, living for oneself with a sinful heart. But faith is self-defeating. Therefore, this request is difficult. Our way of life and the principles of our thinking are manifested as an instinct to 'to protect ourselves'. That is why people are ashamed of losing face and taking their lives for losing their honor. But the Bible tells us to let go of those things. The Bible does not promise us a way of peace, but rather promises of suffering and tribulation. What is it for? just one

- One -

It is for your country and the gospel. We think that if we are just, we will not face difficulties in our life of faith, but the Bible says the opposite. The best witness is Jesus Himself. We can't tell you how much we disbelieve this as we follow Jesus. It's too easy to say, "Jesus, I'm going to follow you today, so give me peace!" Such a life of faith cannot be triumphant.

Now let's get back to the main text.

'Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for you are meek and humble of heart, and your heart

You will find rest'
