Content Title : Peace offering
Text / Lev 7:11-15
11 These are the rules for the sacrifice of the peace offering to the LORD. 12 If you offer it with thanksgiving, you shall offer unleavened bread mixed with oil, and unleavened bread anointed with oil, and cakes baked in fine flour mixed with oil with the sacrifice of thanks. You shall present the offering together with the sacrifice, 14 one by one from all the offerings as a large offering to the Lord, and it shall be returned to the priests who sprinkled the blood of the peace offering. 15 The meat of the peace offering offered with thanks shall be eaten on the same day it is offered. (Leviticus 7:11-15)
◈ When I go to prison, it is said that there is one thing in common with those who have been to prison.” No one loved me. I have never received favor from anyone.” Really? It is common knowledge that parents have more affection for ugly children.
Who is the unhappy person? He is a person who does not know how to reciprocate even after receiving a lot of grace. He thinks, “I have never received favor from anyone.”
From the cradle to the grave, people live with the help of others.
◈ The rites of 舊約 can be divided into five main types.
① burnt offering ② meal offering ③ peace offering ④ sin offering ⑤ trespass offering
Among them, I would like to talk about the peace offering for today's offering.
The meaning of the peace offering can be said to be a sacrifice to express gratitude for the grace of God bestowed upon us. Today is the first Sunday of the last month of December after the end of the year of 2005. Let's take a look at the meaning of thinking about God's grace that has been bestowed on us throughout the year.
I. peace offering
1) (He) Seebach (Ge) It will be offered with a happy heart with a communion festival, peace festival, thanksgiving festival, and a grateful heart.
2) It is a voluntary sacrifice for the purpose of fulfilling a vow (Leviticus 7:16).
“However, if the sacrifice is a vow or a voluntary gift, it shall be eaten on the day it is offered, and the remainder shall be eaten the next day (Leviticus 7:16).”
II. There are 4 ways to offer peace offerings.
1) If you are healed from an incurable disease, offer a peace offering to God.
When I was studying theology, there were people I envied when I was sentenced to death at Seoul National University Hospital and lay in front of death for being senile. At that time, there were a lot of scavengers in Sadang-dong. He was dressed in tattered clothes like a beggar, and his body was wrinkled from the sun, but he could not be envious of his health overflowing with beauty. I thought that as long as I had a healthy body, I would have nothing to envy even if I had no wealth, no honor or position.
Many people in our church are being ordained after worship, and some of them are mentally disabled, and some who cannot be resolved at the hospital have already been resolved and prayed as a preventive measure. There should always be a thanksgiving offering, and those who are healthy without disease should offer a thanksgiving offering every worship service.
◈ No matter how healthy you are, someday you will get sick. We must offer lifelong peace offerings to the grace of redemption from God, Jesus, who gave us the citizenship of heaven to live forever free from disease.
2) It is time to safely pass through the desert.
As you pass through the desert, you may encounter robbers or accidents.
3) When you return from a dangerous voyage, you must offer thanks.
4) When you are released from prison, you will be offered a peace offering.
Ⅲ. How to offer peace offerings
1) Offerings - cattle, sheep, goats
2) Sharing the offerings: Some of them are burned on the altar of burnt offering to God.
some to the priest
Some are shared with family members.
3) History - I testify - ex) Last week when I crossed the desert, I crossed it on a camel or on foot.
Testify that it was dangerous, but God protected it.
IV. How will we celebrate Thanksgiving
1) Think of the dangerous things in the year.
2) Let's give thanks at every worship service.
3) December is the month of Christmas.
Christmas is a time to celebrate the baby Jesus who came to take away our sins and our curses. To celebrate, you need a gift. I pray that you will live a life of saving one soul through evangelism and offering peace offerings through deeds and practices.
