Romans 3:21-31 The peace offering offered by faith Topic: 20. belief. 2008. 8. 31.
◎ Introduction
: Only a lot of faith justifies people.
※ The Bible uses “the righteousness of God” in three ways.
It is used when ① attribute of God ② lack of godly character of man ③ means the perfection that God provides for man in Jesus Christ.
※ The text speaks about the power of faith and shows four facts about faith.
① Drive away pride. ② Justification without works of the law. ③ Revealing God. ④ Establish the law firmly.
1. Righteousness: The way to be justified by God. (21~26)
2. Faith: The way to put an end to human pride and pride, self-righteousness and deeds. (27-31)
1. Righteousness: The way to be justified by God. (21-26)
One). Now righteousness has appeared. (21-22)
※ The age under the law shows that it is impossible for man to attain righteousness by himself. But
Now the age of God's righteousness has come. It is found in the Only Begotten Son of God.
① God’s righteousness for man is “out of the law.”
* The law does not allow for disobedience in two critical areas. * No ability to obey.
② God's righteousness for man was already prophesied by the Old Testament (Romans 4 and below).
③ God's righteousness for man was revealed in Jesus Christ.
2). Righteousness is for everyone. (22-23)
① Righteousness is for all who believe.
* Righteousness is given to the believer as a possession.
* Righteousness is overlaid on the believer like clothing.
② All people need righteousness.
* Because all people are sinners.
* It did not reach the glory of God.
※ There is no difference or discrimination between people.
3). “The glory of God” is God's standard for man. (23)
※ It means the moral glory of God.
① Glory is light, the perfect light.
* It is the light that reaches the extreme. It is the perfection of brilliance, brilliance, and brilliance.
② Glory is purity, that is, perfect purity.
* It refers to virtue and goodness, essence and morality reaching the extreme. It refers to the most outstanding personality and existence.
③ Glory is majesty, that is, complete majesty.
* It refers to excellence and majesty to the extreme, dignity and honor, worthy of worship and praise.
④ Glory is being, that is, being perfect.
* It refers to the qualities and abilities that reach the extreme, the preciousness and value.
4). Righteousness is possible only through justification. (24)
① Justification is a free gift from God.
② Justification is possible only through the redemption of Jesus Christ.
5). Righteousness is due to God's works, that is, the propitiation offering. (25)
※ The peace offering means sacrifice, covering, satisfaction, payment, and satisfaction for sins.
① God established Christ to be the propitiation for human sins.
② The propitiation sacrifice for human sin is Christ Himself.
6). The purpose of righteousness is for God to reveal his righteousness and justice. (25-26)
※ Because God is righteous and just, he always does what is right and acts with justice for all.
① God's righteousness is revealed in His forgiveness of sins.
② God's righteousness is revealed by His long-suffering and patience.
③ God's righteousness is revealed in His justice.
④ God's righteousness is revealed in His being who justifies all believers.
2. Faith: The way to put an end to human pride and pride, self-righteousness and deeds. (27-31)
※ This text discusses the power of faith, and refers to the four facts that come from faith.
One). Faith drives out pride among men. (27)
① It is not the law of deeds that prevents men from boasting.
* The law of conduct encourages boasting.
② It is the law of faith that makes man unable to boast. (Romans 1:18~3:26)
* The law of faith drives out boasting. But man can boast in God.
2). Faith justifies a person without works of the law. (28)
※ We are justified by faith, not by works of the law.
3). Faith only reveals a God who treats all people equally. (29-30)
① God created all people. Therefore, He is the God of all men.
② God is the only God. Therefore, all are equally justified by faith.
4). Faith establishes the law. (31)
① Jesus Christ established (completed) the law.
② When a believer recognizes himself as a lawbreaker and a sinner, he establishes the law.
* The law is good because it points out his sins (Romans 3:19~20; 5:20; 7:7; Galatians 3:19).
③ Believers make far more laws than legalists.
* Because when we see what Christ has done for us, we are inwardly inspired to please God.
