Title: People in Need of Refreshment

Contents

Those in need of refreshment (Isaiah 40:27-31)

“Loosen this old old man and give me

I was young, is it heavy because it is a stone?

I was embarrassed to be old, so would you like to carry your burdens?”

It is the progenitor of Songgang Jeong-cheol. As people grow old, their energy diminishes and it is difficult to control their body, but it seems to the poet's eyes that it was very sad to see him carrying a load with such an old man's body. So, he is sad to grow old, so should he carry a heavy load? You can see that he is pitiful.

Of course, as people get older, their energy disappears. Mentally and physically, yes, so the older I get, the more I pay attention to taking care of my body. I hope that there is something that gives me strength and I rely on it. The cane also becomes a medium of daily strength for the elderly.

However, the elderly are not the only ones who do not have the energy to seek any strength. Today's text tells us that a young boy with boiling blood and a long-haired man who is at the peak of his strength need some help. Verse 30 says, “Even a boy is weary and weary, and even a young man stumbles and falls.”

In other words, not only the elderly but also the boys are <tired and weary>, and even the elders are <stumbled and fallen>.

What makes life difficult is that there are no exceptions, regardless of age or gender. As I read these words, I come to realize that every part of life needs the power of comfort and help.

In Psalm 90, it is said that life is “only toil and sorrow”. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus called them “those who labor and are heavy laden.”

In a TV program called <This is Life>, people with strange fates were introduced. The title of <The Woman Who Lives by Running>. Son Seon-yi, the main character, is in tears, saying, “The story of a woman who has been holding the steering wheel for 18 years instead of her sickly lying husband.”

The main character, <Queen of Tears>, aired under the title <Queen of Tears>, was born to a wealthy farmer and married a man 7 years older than her. The husband flees and the house is foreclosed. All the furniture was taken away by the creditors and they were left in four rooms. My husband's friends, who lent me money, bother me more. It shows the difficult part of a desperate life.

However, it is not only the people who appear in ‘This Is Life’ that are difficult and difficult. Grab people passing by and ask. Like the main characters of “This Is Life,” I will tell you about the difficult and difficult parts of life in their own way. Yes! Life is small, big, short, long, and long, and the same is true of hard and difficult things.

<Praise of the Gospel> “When life is difficult and hardships overlap, Lord, help me.

Please listen carefully to this cry and seal it by hand.”

That is why God, who is merciful and rich in compassion, says in Isaiah 40:1, “Comfort ye, comfort my people.” Everything in life needs comfort. Therefore, I hope that you will live your life looking at each other with a heart of comfort, knowing that you need to comfort each other.

Through today's text, I would like to summarize some words of comfort from God and pray.

First, everyone desperately needs the new strength that God gives them.

Older adults can be seen greeting each other by saying, 'Good evening.' I think it is a greeting that came naturally from the pressures and rumors of Japanese imperialism, the upheaval of the Korean War, and the difficulty of dying from frequent epidemics. The Bible says, “Life is not knowing what will happen tomorrow.” A life that is powerless, a life that does not know tomorrow, a life in which you have to ask for good night at night, and a life that is difficult to handle on your own, requires new strength from God.

The condition of the people God speaks of in the text is the ‘tired person’ and the ‘incompetent person’.

It contains both a ‘boy’ and a ‘long-haired man’. The general understanding is that <Boy> and <Boyfriend> are considered to be <the lively and most powerful>, but God is showing that even they cannot be an exception from the ‘tired person’ and ‘incompetent’ categories.

Although life is different in degree, it is said that “50 steps and 100 steps”. That is why we all need new strength from God.

In verse 27, God said to the people of Israel, “Jacob, why do you murmur, and why do you complain, Israel? Why do you say, “The Lord is ignorant of my circumstances, and God does not protect my rightful rights”?” you ask

God is pointing out that such a judgment is unfair as he sees his people Israel complaining and complaining about not having God's help in the difficult and difficult difficulties of life. The people of Israel desperately need the new strength that God gives them, but they are desperate, wondering why God is silently not giving them the new strength they need. It shows how desperately they need refreshment from God.

Yes! In life, everyone needs the new strength that God gives them so much.

In English, <new power> is revitalization, which is said to give new vitality (life, strength).

The eagle soars high in the sky and is a fearless flying beast. The eagle always reminded people of strength, freedom and courage.

For this reason, nations, empires, and rulers from ancient Egypt to modern-day America have made the eagle their symbol. Therefore, the flag representing the United States has an eagle drawn on it.

Today's text speaks of the <eagle> as a symbol of new strength. Verse 31 says, “It will soar up like an eagle with its wings spread.”

God gives us new strength to soar in the sky like an eagle. How great is the new strength that God gives you? I believe that life becomes like an eagle soaring in the sky when the new power that God gives you is poured out. May this grace always come upon you.

Second, it is the condition that God gives us new strength. To whom do you refresh?

Verse 31 says, “He who has his hope in the Lord finds new strength.” First of all, in the translation of the Bible, it is called “a person who waits for you.”

It gives us new strength when we become people who only hope for God and who only wait for God.

During this European training, when I went to Poland, I was able to see the field spread out from the car window covered with sunflowers. I don't know for what purpose they planted so many, but they were all sunflowers. The plant called sunflower is named <sunflower> because its broad petals move along the direction of the setting sun. Yes! Wishing for the sun, I only look at the sun and live. It is the same as waiting for and hoping for God only. As a sunflower looks only at the sun, when it looks only at the Lord, God gives new strength to such saints.

<Example> The point where flowing river water and calm sea water meet is called the salt line. This salt line changes from time to time. When the amount of water in the river decreases due to drought, the salt line is formed at the upper part of the river, but when the amount of water in the river increases due to rain, the salt line moves deeper into the sea. There is this spiritual salt line in our religious life as well. When we always look only at the Lord and long for and long for the Lord, we will come closer to the sea of God's grace, the sea of power, and we will receive new strength that pours from above like water. please believe However, when the level of our hope and longing for the Lord goes down, the spiritual salt line also goes down, and the new power that God gives us gradually diminishes. Therefore, please wait for and long for God only so that the spiritual salt line may be raised.

How can we hope and wait for God?

We can look to the Lord in prayer every day. Since we long for the Bible, the word of God, we can only look to the Lord. We can pray for God because we actively participate in worship. I bless you that you will enjoy the new strength that comes from above as you hope for the Lord through prayer, through the Word, and through worship. In Psalm 121, the psalmist David said, “Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord God, who made the heavens and the earth.”

<Yes> The evil devil set up a street vendor on the street and put the most expensive price tag on the strange-looking thing. Passers-by were curious and asked what the object was used for.

The devil said, “This is the most powerful tool I have, and that is discouragement. I use this to persevere until the humans finally fall into despair. Once you fall into despair, that's it. Humans become my slaves.”

Everyone! Despair toward the world is the channel through which the devil works, and hope and longing for the Lord are the channel to receive new strength and power from God. please believe

Therefore, I want you to have only hope and longing for God. As a sunflower looks only at the sun, I hope that you will receive new strength every day as you hope and look only at the Lord.

Everyone! Remember one thing for sure! I hope you have faith in God without misunderstanding. In today's text, the people of Israel misunderstood God and complained about their wrong thoughts toward God. complained about ‘Why doesn’t God understand our situation as God’s people and protect our rightful rights?’

When I commented, ‘Therefore, even though we are God’s people, we are powerless and have no power or power.’ In other words, I who believe in God are no different from those who live without God. Why does God treat us that way? complained that

But God said that it is a great misunderstanding to think so and complain about it. In verse 28, God said, ‘Eternal God! Who created the ends of the earth! He does not feel weary, never tireless, and his wisdom is limitless,” and that “if we hope only for such a God, we will receive new strength and soar up like an eagle soaring on its wings. It's going to be a life you won't do, but because you don't do it, you're incompetent and powerless.

A good brother lived in a rural area. My brother's house was poor. In addition, there were seven family members. Still, the laughter never left.

But my brother's family was rich. Only three members of the family lived there. Still, the fighting continued every day.

One day, the older brother visited the younger brother and asked him the secret.

Then my brother said to my brother. “Because there are only smart people in your house and only fools in our house.

In my house, if something happens, everyone says it's my fault, so we don't have to fight.

If something happens at my brother's house, we have no choice but to fight because we both blame each other for your fault."

Everyone! Even though we are children of Almighty God, we are powerless. It is not God's fault that we are incompetent. This is because we do not have the work of faith that desires the Lord only to bring us down from the infinite power of God.

Therefore, we must admit that it is not God's fault that we are incompetent and helpless, but ourselves. We must say that we are not getting <new strength from God> because we do not ‘longing for and longing for the Lord’.

Therefore, I hope that there will be no misunderstandings like the people of Israel.

Rather, we should be convinced that God is the Almighty Creator God, who can provide us with the refreshment we desperately need. May you always hope in the Lord with that faith.

Yes! I bless you in the name of the Lord that you will always be victorious because God pours out new strength from above because we only hope in the Lord.

<Prayer> Lord! We believe that the God we believe in is the eternal and almighty Creator God. All of us in our lives desperately need the new strength that God gives us, and I am thankful that you give that new strength to those who “hope only in God.” May we live a life like an eagle soaring in the sky by receiving new strength and enjoying it as we always look forward to God through prayer, through the Word, through worship!

In any case, let me not despair and live in hope in the Lord! I believe that you will win with the new strength you always give. -Amen-
