Title: People of Jesus (II)
Above all, love one another zealously, for love covers a multitude of sins.
Keep in touch without grumbling, and as each has received a gift, serve one another as good stewards of God's various graces. that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom is glory and power forever and ever, Amen>
Last week's sermon was titled .
How deeply do today's churches and Christians actually have a relationship with Jesus Christ?
do you live When I thought about what I was doing, I said that we should not become Christians, but rather become people of Jesus. He said that there are many people who believe in Jesus, but few people who live with Jesus, so we all want to become people of Jesus.
If you continue to be Jesus' people today, how will you live in the world?
I'm going to try to think about what I'm doing as shown in the text today.
1 Peter begins in 64 AD when the persecution of Emperor Nero begins,
The Bible was written when many saints were imprisoned and persecuted.
That is why it is also called 1 Peter.
Because he was in a situation of being hostile and despised by the world
Because he was trying to give them comfort and hope.
It is said that Christians in this world are the field, and our hometown is in heaven, but it is today's text that specifically talks about how we should live while we are strangers.
So this is also true for us today.
The people of Jesus are no different from the past or the present.
On the way from the stranger's world to our homeland
How to live the true Christian life?
Today's text is presented in four ways.
1. First, the people of Jesus are people who live by prayer. (1 Peter 4:7)
The people of the world live without even knowing what prayer is.
But the people of Jesus are different from the people of the first world in that they are people who live by prayer.
How should we pray?
According to the text, we are told to be sober and sober and pray.
Because the end of all things is near.
What will happen in the last days is described in detail in 2 Timothy 3:1-5. In the last days, people will say that ① they love themselves ② they love money ③ they disobey their parents ④ they are not thankful ⑤ they are not temperate.
These words were written 2000 years ago, but maybe that's how we face today's reality.
It's surprising what you're saying.
Looking at the faces of everyone in the 21st century these days, it is undeniable that they all love themselves, love money, disobey their parents, are ungrateful, and are not in control.
People of Jesus cannot live without prayer in this world.
It's time to pray, but be alert and pray.
To be sober means to be conscious people of Jesus.
Unconscious Christians will be swept away by the waves of the world
because it is only
Living consciously and praying is the way Jesus' people live.
2. Second, the people of Jesus are people who live in love. (1 Peter 4:8)
In today's text, it is said, "Above all, I must love you earnestly...".
How would you practice love?
It is said that love covers the faults of the other person.
This is what Jesus' people, who are Christians, will do.
Revealing faults between saints, or spreading unknown secrets, that is what the people of the world do.
The Lord also told us to pray like this while talking about forgiveness.
“Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Go..." he said.
When we can forgive the sins of others like this, it is the people of Jesus.
In other words, if you are a person of Jesus, you can do that by looking at how Jesus forgave us.
It means you have to take a stand.
Even the woman caught in the scene of adultery was not condemned by Jesus.
He gave me one more chance, saying, 'Go and do not sin again.'
The people of Jesus are people to live with compassion and love.
The man of Jesus must have some tenderness.
We should be tolerant of everyone.
When we live like that, we can smell the personality of Jesus.
3. Third, the people of Jesus are people who live with hospitality. (1 Peter 4:9)
The world wants to be treated. Everyone loves being treated.
But the Lord told his disciples to treat others first.
Luke 6:31 says, “Treat others as you would like them to treat you.”
I did.
In today's text, it is said, 'Let us treat one another without grumbling.'
It means to do it with a happy heart while serving it.
Because hospitality gives you more pleasure than being treated.
People of Jesus should live while experiencing the joy of treating others like this.
I did.
If you say like this, 'What do I need to treat you?...'
Some of you may think this way.
When I see people who treat me, I can't treat them all.
Rather, you can see people who do not have it and live while treating others.
When you serve them, you will experience how much greater the joy of giving than the joy of receiving.
is.
It's like you don't know how great the joy of evangelism is to those who can't evangelize
It is the fact that those who have never treated themselves as they did do not know the joy and happiness they feel.
I saw it on TV one day, and once a month, I made rice cakes and went to visit the elderly.
saw a person It's not because you can afford to live your life.
Because if you don't do that, something that you can't bear controls your heart.
In this way, we must learn to live by treating others.
Please try this once.
The people of Jesus are people who treat others.
Also, does God bless you so that you can provide more hospitality?
All.
4. Finally, Jesus' people are people who live by service. (1 Peter 4:10)
Service is called Service in English. Service is not for you.
It means making others happy and helping others with one's own efforts.
In essence, helping others requires that much.
Without the power to help, there is no service.
So, where should Jesus' people be supplied?
As we see in the text, it is possible with the help of the Holy Spirit.
That is, we must receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
“As each of us has received a gift, we serve one another as good stewards of the various graces of God.
Sahara," he said.
We have to keep in mind the word here.
He told me to serve, not one-sided service.
But he told me to do the service with the strength that God provides.
All. In other words, do not boast about your strength after serving.
Service must end with service.
When you show your name while boasting about service, the value is already lost.
So, I told him to do it with the strength God has given him.
I think this is a very important word.
In most cases, if you think that you are serving by your own abilities,
There are many owls. That's why I always try to brag after serving.
The people of the world may do it, but the people of Jesus tell me not to do it.
is. That alone sets us apart from the rest of the world.
“Therefore, when giving alms, hypocrites seek glory in the synagogues and streets
Do not blow the trumpet before you, as Esau does, verily I say to you, they have received their reward. When you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your alms may be in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you” (Matthew 6:2-4).
Dear saints!
We must not take the test in the last time.
We must be very careful not to be put to the test of our faith.
Because, if you are not alert, if you are not praying, when
Because no one knows when you will fall into the hump and test.
To be Jesus' people, you must live according to the fashions of unbelievers in an unbelieving world.
We have the duty and responsibility to live while discerning what God's holy, pleasing, and perfect will is. When we live like that, God will lead history with us. ♣
