Title: People of Leap
Contents
Today's topic is the leap of faith. Leap means to take on a challenge and jump. So leap and challenge have the same meaning. In today's text, Caleb and Joshua appear. In these two, we see a leap forward. The two are right. I know that you attended the testimony meeting of Elder Kim Ha-jung in the last Wednesday worship service. He is the one who took the leap in prayer. He wasn't the one who prayed well from the beginning. No one is born as a warrior of prayer from the beginning. But one day, for some reason, I decided to take a leap forward.
People who take a leap seize the opportunity to take a leap. It's not something someone made you do. We jumped up a few steps in prayer and now stand before us as warriors of prayer. My people's favorite athletes right now are Park Ji-sung and Kim Yuna. My favorite player is Ji-Sung Park, and my wife’s favorite is Yuna Kim. Why do you like them and cheer them on? Because they attempted to leap in their realm, challenged and finally jumped. There is an extraordinary determination and extraordinary effort.
My wife likes Yuna Kim so much. Our Yeon-ah came out. I really like Park Ji-Sung. Recently in the Premier League, he scored like a bullet with a header from the front of the post. I can't tell you how happy and excited I was that day. Why do we become happy when we see Jisung Park or Yuna Kim? Because those people made a leap in their field.
Today, we think of Caleb and think about Caleb's leap of faith. Today, in chapter 14, Caleb appears. This is something to consider in context. What is the situation in Chapter 14 now? From chapter 14, the battle for the conquest of the land of Canaan is finished and now each tribe acquires the land as an inheritance. We looked at the Battle of Canaan, and after crossing the Jordan River, it goes in this order: Central, South and North. You win until chapter 13. Why are you fighting? Because God had promised to give the land to Israel as an inheritance, they fought for the land.
Then you won the battle, so it's right to take the land, but there is one remaining task. Each tribe cast lots to obtain land, but it is not enough to just enter the land without anyone living in it. In each region, there are still persistent Canaanite natives who have survived. The natives hide in valleys and mountaintops, and most likely do not surrender.
So which of the tribes of Israel will go first? If one tribe rises spiritually, other tribes will follow. Who is involved in this difficult and difficult task? Caleb of the tribe of Judah. Chapter 14 Caleb's Leap There is Caleb's challenge and we see the rest of the tribes stand up one after another until chapter 19. I see this as a leap of faith.
First, people of leaps and bounds have God's promises alive in them.
Let's all look at verse 6. Caleb is of the tribe of Judah. It is time for the twelve tribes to take possession of their land. But it is not just to get them, but to save the Canaanite people who are left in the land.
