Title: People Who Forgot God

Contents

Ezekiel 22:1-16 / People who forgot God

* In today's text, / the image of Israel's sins that will be judged is specifically mentioned.

- In particular, today's words / point out the specific sins committed by the leaders of Israel.

& the Word of God's Law! - Point out the sin of ignoring all the Ten Commandments.

* Through today's text / What kind of God is... What are the lessons he gives me...

& Let's think / do a few things.

1. God - the reason for judging Jerusalem - reveals in detail.

- why?

- To make known / the abominations they have done.

* The specific sins they committed / are found in verses 6-13.

- If you look at the contents... / Oh, thoroughly

& Covenant with God - You will see that you are completely violating the Ten Commandments.

- Abuse of power to bleed /

& despise parents / defile the sabbath /

& commit all kinds of dirty fornication

& defrauding neighbors / taking bribes / extortion.

** <In the spirit of the Ten Commandments...>

& I have sinned against God / and against my neighbor.

* Everyone! / Jews who received thorough Shema education from an early age

& you don't even know the ten commandments

& how could you/can you completely break [the Ten Commandments] like this? - The reason is that?

Verse 12 (If you pay special attention to the second half...)

** Why did they do that?

- Because they / forgot God....

- This is the most fundamental reason.

** So, what is God continuing to say?

- (Looking at verse 16) / Through judgment, ‘I will make known that I am Jehovah’

* Actually, through Moses / God continued to speak

& “Do not forget God!” / Didn’t he say?

“Beware that you do not keep the commandments, decrees, and ordinances of the Lord, which I am giving you today, and do not forget the Lord your God. lest your heart become arrogant and forget the LORD your God when all that you have is abounding” (Deuteronomy 8:11-14).

- Deuteronomy 8:19

“If you forget the LORD your God and follow other gods and serve them and bow down to them, I testify to you that you will surely perish.

** They ought not to forget - God.

- But the moment you forget God!!

& departing from the word of God / committing all kinds of disgusting sins before God.

<This is automatic.>

<The moment I am far from God and far from the Word!! - You will become closer to sin.>

* Dear friends!

- Please do not forget God in your life.

- Always remembering God / walking in the presence of God - I hope that you will become such people.

2. If we consider only one of the crimes committed by those in the leadership of Israel,

Verses 6-7!

* They were not afraid to abuse their power - to make others bleed.

- why?

- (Looking at verse 13) For their own benefit - <If you think this is your interest...>

& others will bleed - I thought nothing of it.

* Also, in relation to people... (just look at the verb in verse 7)

& People // were despised / abused / harmed (with no power). - I was treated rudely.

* As I said at the Wednesday worship service yesterday, / In our relationship with people - Are there any laws ordained by God?

- If you make someone else bleed... / You end up bleeding yourself.

- If you abuse / bully / knock others down... // you end up falling yourself.

** This is the truth set by God.

* In the end, what about the weak - who oppressed / despised / abused / them?

Verse 4

- Is it the same?

- by strangers - being abused / ridiculed and made fun of.

* Dear friends! / - Remember again this dawn

- The fact that [what I did to others - it comes back to me!!]!

- Respect / (don't despise) the people you meet today.

- Treat the people you meet today / with love and kindness.

** Excite others. // Then I get excited.

3. If you look at the Bible - God is very interested in [the socially weak].

** Orphans and widows / the poor / strangers...

& interest and consideration for them - because you want them.

* But / what about a bad society?

- Not only are they not caring or interested in them,

& the socially underprivileged - oppressed / despised / mistreated /

& Even what they have a little - they exploit it all.

* Christmas is coming.

- To those who need more attention and consideration in our society

& Showing love / showing interest - I want you to be like that.
