Title: People who have been blessed by God
Content Example) Shakespeare (16C) work Macbeth (one of the four great tragedies) “Oh! Can't even Arabian perfume clean this one hand? Is there no forgetting agent to dig it out of my mind?”
Shakespeare, in Macbad's lament, said, 'There is nothing in this world that can wash away sins. No human means,” he said. He wanted to say that there is nothing but the blood of Jesus Christ.
? Hymns 184:1 “There is only the blood of Jesus that washes away my sins/ There is only the blood of Jesus to revive me/ The shed blood of Jesus makes me white/ It is precious and precious. Only the blood of Jesus.”
? Only the blood of Jesus washes away sins and gives freedom and peace from the pain of conscience.
I. What is God's grace?
? Man has sinned and is cut off from God.
Therefore, there is no righteous at all. Read Romans 3:10. “There is none righteous, not even one” The penalty for sin is death (Romans 6:23). Let's read verse 3. “… By nature he was a child of wrath.”
? But Jesus paid the price for our sins and made us alive.
Let's read verses 4-5. “Because of the great love in which God, who is rich in mercy, loved us . . . made us alive together with Christ... “This is the grace of God.
? Two conditions of salvation:
1. Grace alone as a condition for God's convenience
? Historically, there have been three great opportunities for salvation. Humanity has lost that opportunity.
① The promise of salvation was broken because of the sin of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.
② In the days of Noah, the flood was judged because of the overflowing sins of mankind.
③ He was promised blessing through the law, but he became a curse because he broke the promise.
? There is no hope at all for mankind. At this time, Jesus, the Son of God, took on that sin and took up the cross. This is the grace of God.
2. Belief as a condition of human convenience
? Faith is like the hand of a man who is stretched out toward the hand of God to rescue a man from drowning. Therefore, faith is not about our own merits, but about accepting the merits (love) of Jesus on the cross.
? Let's read verse 8. “By grace you have been saved through faith, which . . . It is a gift from God.”
? This is the grace of salvation. Anyone can believe and receive all these graces.
II. What is the purpose of saving us in this way?
1. The purpose is to show the grace of God to others.
? Let's read verse 7. “… that the exceeding riches of his grace might be revealed in the generations to come.”
? What do those who are saved do? Those who have tasted the riches of God's grace should show it.
? Evangelism: “A beggar who has eaten up tells a hungry beggar where he can go” (Bil Brah)
