“People who have the heart of Jesus”
Goals in life can be summarized into two main categories. ‘Who do I want to be?’ and ‘What do I want to do?’ In this context, the 2012 Changseong Community goal was set. As Philippians 2:5 says, for all members to grow “people who have the heart of Jesus” and to form a “Changsung community with one accord and one heart,” this is the vision of Changsung Church in 2012.
□ What is the mind?
In the Bible, the ‘heart’ is the place where God works, and it can be said to be the center of the inner human being. (Proverbs 4:23, 1 Samuel 16:7b, Matthew 5:8) Thoughts come from the heart, and actions come from the thoughts. What is revealed through this process is the person's attitude and character. Therefore, we must start with “have a heart for Jesus” (Matthew 11:29).
1. We must imitate the spirituality of Jesus (Spirituality)
Such a person is a person filled with the Holy Spirit, and is a person who is centered in the spirit rather than the flesh. Those who are filled with the Holy Spirit are controlled by the Holy Spirit (2 Corinthians 5:17), hear the words of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14), boast and display the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:2; 2 Corinthians 2:15), and preach the gospel ( Mark 16:15), full of faith (Hebrews 11:38), and a spiritual person (1 Corinthians 2:15).
Also, those who are filled with the Holy Spirit are grateful and loyal to their office (1 Corinthians 4:2, Revelation 2:10), succeed in worship (Romans 12:1), do not lean left or right, and please God and people together. Then, what is the way to be filled with the spirituality of Jesus, that is, the Holy Spirit? It is “prayer.” (Acts 1:14, 2:1~4) Jesus’ daily life began with early morning prayer. (Mark 1:35, Psalm 108:2, Psalm 46:5)
2. We must imitate the intelligence of Jesus (Intelligency)
No one would object to Professor Lee Ee-ryeong as the representative of the intelligence of this age. But he confessed, “My dear daughter, your prayer (spirituality) has crossed the high threshold (intellect).” However, the ‘intelligence’ I want to talk about now is not just about common sense or human knowledge. It means “the knowledge of God” (Philippians 3:8). Those who are full of the knowledge of God draw close to God’s Word, long for it (Psalm 1:2, 119:131), believe in God’s Word (Luke 1:37-38), and obey it (1 Samuel 3:10). ), to preach (Acts 9:20).
However, many people sin and fall and run to the road of destruction. This is because they do not have the knowledge of God. (Hos 4:6, 6:3, John 1:5,9~10) Solomon, who enjoyed the greatest wisdom and wealth and glory, but after he left God and lived in the place of sin, I realized how futile my life was. (Ecclesiastes 1:2, 1:17, 3:12-14, 12:13) Therefore, those who know God, that is, those who resemble Jesus’ intelligence, are the ones who will have a truly happy life. A person who lives a blessed and worthwhile life.
3. We must imitate the humanity of Jesus (Personality)
Personality means personal character. In the church community, we often see people who seem to have good faith but are disappointed in their personalities. They lack common sense and culture, and sometimes cry in a ruthless way. We must also imitate the personal character of Jesus.
① We must imitate the love of Jesus. (The love that gave Himself, John 3:16, 1 John 4:10)
② We must learn the humility of Jesus. (John 13:34, Philippians 2:5~8)
③ We must resemble Jesus' compassion. (Matthew 15:32, Matthew 17:15, Psalm 103:8, Matthew 5:7)
④ We must learn to serve Jesus. (Mark 10:45, John 13:4~16)
⑤ We must learn the forgiveness of Jesus. (Luke 23:36, Acts 7:60)
