Sermons for Preaching

Title: People who worship (Psalm 29:1-2)

There are several differences between humans and beasts. Humans have things that animals do not have, such as having written language and language, and the ability to observe moral and ethical norms. But more importantly, they have awe and faith in the Absolute. Building a temple, a shower, and a church are only possible in the human world. No matter how high IQ chimpanzees are, there is no worship of God in their world. But no matter how savage and barbaric they may be, where they gather, there is worship and there is a church.

There are differences and problems in the object and method of worship, but finding, revering, and worshiping the Absolute is a religious act unique to humans.

The ancients worshiped celestial bodies such as the sky, earth, sun, moon, and stars, and natural phenomena such as wind, rain, lightning, and thunder. It is called Nature Worship. There was an act of drawing or engraving something and carrying it around my body, believing that it would protect me. It is called Fetichsm.

Such human worship is ultimately idolatry because it is an act of worshiping the creature as an absolute. Creatures are to worship and worship their Creator. God gave Moses the Creator at Mount Sinai. The first commandment of the Ten Commandments was, Thou shalt have no other gods before me, and the second commandment was, Thou shalt not make a carved image for thee. So, it is a big mistake to put a religion that deifies and worships creation and Christianity, which worships and worships the Creator as an absolute, into the same religious category.

But I complained that I swear I will never betray the way of a sage.

In Psalm 29:1, the psalmist says, "Give glory and power to the LORD, you mighty ones.

Every human being, whoever he is or what he does, should glorify and worship God. The reason is simple. Because they are God's creation.

Psalm 29:1-2 explains to us what our attitude toward worshiping God should be.

1. Worship must be continued.

In verse 1, it says, 'Ascribe to the Lord glory and power and give it to him'.

The rhythm of the body works when you work.
