Title: People with God / Psalm 127:1-3
person with content
Psalm 127:1-3, 3 John 1:2-3
Today's text is the song we sing as we go up to the temple. As the saints go up to find the temple and worship, they hum and sing about their lives. Confess your faith. i will live like this This is the goal of my life. God is the master of my life. Singing like this is the content of the text.
Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman is vigilant in vain.
It is in vain that you rise early and lie down late and eat the bread of toil.
Therefore the LORD gives sleep to those he loves. 127:1-3
Here, life tells us that in order to live well in the world, we must work three things. The first is the effort of building up, the second is the effort of keeping, and the third is the effort of working. However, the core of today's message is that no matter what kind of hard work you do, it will bear fruit only when you do it together.
1. toil to build
To be successful in life, you need to be good at building things. A person who wants to build a building needs to design well, and a young person who is preparing for the future needs to have a good will. Anyone who wants to run a business must plan well. You can see that everything in life starts with building like this.
However, today's text says that no matter how meticulously prepared and built, all efforts are in vain unless God is with them.
Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain...
The meaning of these words is that you are the master of your life. No matter how hard a person puts his or her efforts, it can all be in vain. An unexpected illness or a terrible accident can strike anyone. Buying insurance and depositing in the bank is to protect your life from the unexpected. However, when the LORD builds the house, the house can stand strong, and when the LORD protects the city, the city can be safe. A life with God is a successful life, a life with God is a life of success, a life with God is a life of success, and a life with God is a blessed life.
This butler is a model employee for a logistics company in the suburbs of Seoul. The company is out of town, so it may be a bit difficult, but I'm not late. No, I tend to come out a little early and prepare for work. When someone says, "You came out before us, who are close to home," we reply, "If you leave a little early, you can benefit from not getting stuck."
They usually leave work on time, but whenever something happens, they stay up all night to fulfill their responsibilities. In such cases, we also do not forget to contact the house in advance. It is also faithful to the family. His sincerity is known by everyone in the company, and his business partners also praise him. It is by no means coincidental that he became the head of a major department in his 5th year of joining the company.
One sad word from this butler. It is "that person, except for believing in Jesus, is a very good person...". It's a story that comes up at a drinking party with colleagues, or on a Sunday hike. “It would be better if only that person believed in Jesus….” This is a 'commendation' that believers should receive from unbelievers. This deacon has become a person who is recognized everywhere because God is at the center of his life.
A Christian must be involved in that life. We must open our hearts to God so that He can intervene. We must open our lives to God. God must be with us, God must guide us, and God's Word must be the foundation of our life. Such a life is a successful life and a blessed life.
The LORD who created you, Jacob, now speaks.
O Israel, the one who formed you now speaks.
you are not afraid I have redeemed you
I have called you by name; you are mine.
I will be with you as you pass through the waters.
When you cross the river, the water will not sink you.
When you walk in the fire, you will not be burned, nor the flames will consume you.
For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, and your savior. Isaiah 43:1-3
2. hard work to keep
In today's text, he talked about the hard work to keep in the midst of hard work in life. If you think about it, life can be compared to defending one's own castle. Life is about protecting your life, protecting your property, protecting your honor, protecting your health, and protecting your family.
But in today's text, he says:
Unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman is vigilant in vain.
When we are together in this dangerous world, everything is protected, not by my talents or my efforts.
Eating everything that is good for your health, exercising hard, sweating when you go to Sanauna, and getting drunk on entertainment does not protect your health, but when you do it together, your body will be healthy and your soul will be energetic.
Your property is not protected by locking a heavy safe with a complex number. Accidents like this, a disease like that, leaking sideways, falling down, flying up and leaving only an empty safe.
Someone has bought a BMW that has been so long-awaited. And on his left hand, he wore a Rolex, the most expensive watch, so this man must have been the happiest man in the world. However, while driving on the highway in that luxury car, he collided with a railing and had a major accident, leaving only the shape of the car. A police car came and rescued the man, but he remained slightly conscious and heard a few moans. What was that moaning sound? Not looking for a wife, not calling on their children, not praying to God, but saying, "...BMW...BMW...". The policeman was stunned and said, 'Calm down. Your body is full and your arms are weak. What kind of BMW?' When I asked him, he said this with a faint consciousness. '... Rolex..., Rolex...'
It is a story that clearly shows where the foundation of life should be. It must be protected by God.
When you are with me, you make me be in your absence, you get me up when you fall, and you lead me when you don't know where you are going.
Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will do it... Psalm 37:5
Commit your deeds to the LORD. Then your management will come to fruition. Proverbs 16:3
3. hard work
To be successful in life, people think that you have to work hard. But God makes it clear.
It is in vain that you rise early and lie down late and eat the bread of toil.
They say that if you get up earlier than others, go to the market, and come in late, go to sleep, and work diligently, unless you join us, all your toil is in vain.
People just think that if they work more than others, all the pay is mine. So, if you just look at the ground, you work hard like an animal. But if we don't work together, all such diligence is in vain.
How beautiful are our saints who change into new clothes and come to the church in anticipation of remembering God on the Lord's Day! What a wonderful life you are living! Not knowing how to put on makeup, not knowing how to greet, not knowing about neighbors, not knowing God, just staring at the ground, keeping your mouth shut, and acting like an animal without an expression, I thought that it is not a happy life.
No matter how hard you work, if you don't work together, it's in vain. Moreover, if God's people do not glorify God, all of them will be in vain and in vain. No matter how much you work all night and work so hard that your back is bent, if it leaks sideways, leaks backwards, and falls down, everything is in vain.
Blessed is everyone who fears the LORD and walks in his way.
You will eat according to the toil of your hands. You will be blessed and prosper. Psalm 128:1-2
I bless you to become a saint who becomes a blessing in everything you do. I wish you a bountiful harvest of all your hard work. We receive such blessings when God is with us.
4. To those who love
The conclusion of all these words is 'Therefore the LORD gives sleep to the one he loves' at the end of verse 2.
Sleep is a blessing that can only be enjoyed by those who have peace of mind. Sleep is God's grace given to those who love, and it is a gift from God. Those who are with you will not have to worry about worry and will be able to sleep comfortably. Sleep not only relieves physical fatigue, but is also a good remedy for mental worries and anxieties. Therefore, a person who sleeps well is a healthy person. It is a blessed person to sleep well when it is time to sleep, and to be awake and vigilant when it is time to be awake and vigilant.
I hope you all get a good night's sleep. I wish you all peace and prosperity.
The new translation of the Bible makes the other meaning of these words very clear.
The Lord blesses the one he loves, even while he sleeps. New Standard Version 127:2
It is said that if we are not together, a person cannot work so hard, and even if he tries like that, it is in vain. It is said that you are responsible even unconsciously.
Look at Joseph. Because he was with him, he was blessed wherever he was. Potiphar, whom Joseph had been sold to as a slave, blessed the house, and Joseph became prime minister, so Egypt had no problems during the famine. Even while Joseph was in prison, God made a work for him and through it he ascended to the post of prime minister.
Whoever is with him is blessed even while he sleeps. I pray that the saints will receive blessings even while they are sleeping.
Beloved, as your soul prospers
I beseech you in all things well and in good health... 3 John 1:2
To believe that when the soul prospers, all things prosper and the body becomes strong, it is the true Christian's faith, the principle of life, and the goal of life.
I pray in the name of the Lord that by becoming people like this, the saints receive blessings even when they sleep.
