Title: People with Paul 2 Barnabas

Content: People with Paul 2 Barnabas

Barnabas is an important person. So, I'm going to study Barnabas as the second person next to Paul. But many Bible scholars say.

To this extent, Barnabas was an important person in the early church.

Ananias was a friend of Paul when he was in danger. But Barnabas was the first to acknowledge Paul when he returned to Jerusalem and no one recognized him. He is an important person who made Paul Paul.

From now on, I'm going to focus on carving out who Barnabas is.

1. A person who started a life of faith through material devotion.

It was a time when the early church received grace and was free. Barnabas' real name was Joseph. Barnabas sold his field. And the money was donated to the apostles. He began his religious life with material devotion to the point of selling real estate and donating money.

(Acts 4:36-37)

This is similar to Zacchaeus. When Zacchaeus met Jesus, he gave half of his wealth to the poor. And he said that if he extorted anything, he would pay him back four times.

Where there is material, there is the mind.

According to the documents of the early church, Barnabas was a wealthy man. They had a lot of cemetery land, especially near Jerusalem. In other words, it was. He sold the land and shared it with the poor. Faith began with the dedication of material things.

To those who devote themselves to material things, they become people of material things. Later this happened.

(Acts 11:27-30)

Because of his dedication to material things, he used the hands of Barnabas when he had to use them. You reap what you sow.

2. Who introduced Paul to the apostles

In Jerusalem, they did not believe in Paul. A man who went to Damascus to persecute those who believed in Jesus suddenly preached Jesus, so he had no choice but to believe. Christians in Jerusalem viewed Paul as a spy or a disguised renegade. This is because he was a bone marrow member in persecuting those who believed in Jesus.

However, it was Barnabas who first recognized Paul's sincerity in Jerusalem. Barnabas (Acts 9:27) explained Paul's conversion. So the apostles made known the truth of Paul.

This case has two meanings.

Barnabas was quick to information. I heard Paul's conversion. I had information about what was going on outside.

And one more thing, the apostles listened to Barnabas. I believed. It is proof that the apostles were trusted.

Paul got to know the apostles because of Barnabas, and the apostles got to know Paul because of Barnabas. Both sides saw the virtue of Paul. An important middleman is Barnabas.

3. A friendly person.

There was a persecution of those who believed in Jesus in Jerusalem. James was martyred. And among the lay deacons, Stephen was the first to be martyred. The saints could not bear it and fled. He fled to Antioch. At the time, Antioch was the third largest city in Europe. At that time, Rome was the largest. Alexandria was the second largest city. Then there was Antioch. The bigger the city, the better it hides. But the closest place to Jerusalem was Antioch.

The Bible is saying.

(Acts 11;19)

Those who fled there were also evangelists. The Gentile Greeks accepted Jesus as if they had waited.

(Acts 11:20-21)

Jews who believed in Jesus were strict. They were keeping all the laws of Moses. If they did not keep the Mosaic Law, they were expelled and separated from Jewish society. It still is. That is why we must not impose the law on anything other than believing in Jesus. Like Jews, Gentiles forcing people to believe in Jesus will be met immediately. We must send an amicable man to both Jews and Gentiles. When we see that Barnabas was chosen, we learn that Barnabas was a very amicable person.

(Acts 11:22)

Evidence that he was an amicable man later became clear. When Paul went on his first missionary journey, he took Paul, Barnabas, and Mark with him. But Mark came back because it was too hard. I gave up.

As they were about to go on their second missionary journey, Paul and Barnabas had a great fight.

(Acts 15;39-41)

Eventually, Barnabas and Paul split up after working together. Paul said not to take him, and Barnabas was to take him. Paul loved work more than people. But Barnabas loved people more than work.

Barnabas was a good person. Paul's early faith was a straight-forward, uncompromising man.

Later, because of Barnabas, Paul finally became one with Mark.

(Galatians 2:1)

(Galatians 2:9)

Barnabas was a good person.

4. Someone who can see grace

Barnabas went to Antioch as a representative of Jerusalem. The Bible is saying.

(Acts 11:23)

Grace is not a feeling. It's not about listening. is to see God uses those who can see grace. Barnabas went to Antioch and saw the grace of God. I am invited to a revival meeting and visit often. It is a small church, but grace is seen. After a while, the church is rumored to be growing. I went to a big church, but I don't see grace. After some time, rumors are heard. Rumor has it that the church is getting smaller.

A church that shows grace is a church with growing seeds. The church in Antioch was a growing church, but it was a church that showed grace.

Barnabas was a man of grace.

5. A good person

Barnabas was a good man. It means a person who is kind to others.

(Acts 11:24)

6. He was a man of the Holy Spirit (Acts 11:24)

7. He was a man of faith (Acts 11:24)

8. He was a man of humility.

(Acts 11:25-26)

He elevated Paul above himself to the church he had made large. Paul believed in Jesus later than he did. Paul, whom he had introduced to the apostles, sat on him, and he went under him.

It's not that easy. It is not so easy to lower yourself in a world where you are struggling to be higher than others. Barnabas was a man of humility.

Someone wrote this poem.

9. A person with a passion for missionary work

Needless to say, Paul and Barnabas are the two men who revitalized the church in Antioch. But one day the Holy Spirit told them to send them as missionaries to the Gentiles.

(Acts 13;1-3)

Without the two pillars, the church in Antioch might collapse. It may collapse. However, when the Holy Spirit told us to send two people, the church that obeyed and sent is the Antioch Church. The Holy Spirit chose two people because they were missionaries. The two have been very successful in their missionary work.

Barnabas was a missionary.

10. A person who only gives glory to God.

Finally, Paul and Barnabas became missionaries, and for the first time in Christian history, they went on a mission to the Gentiles.

Passing through Iconium, they entered Lystra and Derbe. There has been a crippled man since he was born in Lystra. He was a crippled man who had never walked.

Paul exclaimed.

(Acts 14;10)

The crippled man got up and ran. The people of Lystra mistaken Paul and Barnabas for sneaking gods. They believed that God came in human form.

(Acts 14;12)

brought to God. Then the apostle tore his clothes and said that they were not gods.

(Acts 14:14-18)

They both glorified God alone.

Thus, Barnabas is an amazing person. He wrote the history of early Christianity. Gubro is his hometown. They witnessed the gospel to Cyprus. Cyprus is a place where Barnabas has seen the virtues.
