Title: Perez Uzzah / 2 Samuel 6:1-15

Contents Perez Uzzah / 2 Samuel 6:1~15 Daegu Jeil Church

A little over a month has passed since the World Cup ended. I heard that young people who tasted the joy during the World Cup struggle to taste that joy again. That is why, in Daehak-ro, Seoul, or any place where young people gather, they try to attract young people by creating events or programs. Why does this happen? To say that there is joy in life is because fresh energy is generated. When we share joy with a religious perspective, we can talk in two. In other words, the joy of achievement when you achieve what you want, the joy of being recognized, the joy of seeing, and the joy of eating are all referred to as relative joy. This is the joy this world gives. On the other hand, there is absolute joy. This is God-given, and it refers to the joy of heaven that comes through Jesus Christ.

In today's text, we see a man who rejoices in the most. David, who threw away his body and face, and danced with joy.

Everyone! Have you ever been so happy in your life that you rejoice?

Have you ever danced because you liked it so much?

So, what was the reason for David's joy?

It was fighting the Philistines when Eli was the priest, and the ark of God was taken away. He had been in the Philistines for 70 years. It is the moment when the ark of God is brought into Jerusalem, will you not rejoice?

So what the hell is that ark?

The ark was a rectangular wooden box with a length of 120 cm and a height and width of 60 cm, overlaid with gold. Angels were made on both edges so that their wings touched each other. This is called the mercy seat and the mercy seat. Then what is in it?

It contained stone tablets inscribed with the first ten commandments.

The Ten Commandments are a covenant between God and his people. God became their God, and the covenant that they became God's people is the covenant. Here, the character ‘Eon’ is written as Eon (). Therefore, he is the ‘God of the Word’. When the people go to God with prayer, praise, and thanksgiving, God comes and answers them with the word. In other words, the God of stone is the God of words. Around 1700 there was a famous English composer. I gave up my life because I wasn't even recognized until I turned 56. Just then, his friend came and comforted him and gave him the Bible, and as he read it, he experienced something amazing. It is Handel's Messiah Grand Song that I frantically tried to write for 24 days after I stopped eating and drinking. He was moved by the Word and was moved by the inspiration, and it is to guide people to God. In this age of searching for emotion and joy, where do you want to find joy? Wouldn't you like to enjoy the inspiration of God's Word?

Second, there was a jar of manna.

What is manna? The Israelites crossed the Red Sea and went into the wilderness, but there was nothing to eat. When the people went out early in the morning, there was something that looked like cat seeds and was sweet like honey. It had a strange shape. So we looked at each other and asked, ‘What is this?’ The meaning of manna is ‘What is this?’ God gave the Israelites food, clothing, and drink for 40 years in the wilderness. In the wilderness where there is nothing, it was the God of manna who said, ‘Look at only me!’ Then everything will be filled.

If that God is with us, why can't He meet our needs?

The third was Aaron's rod that budded.

In Numbers 16, Korah and his men rebelled against Moses and Aaron. So, if you put the staff of the leaders of the twelve tribes one by one in front of the ark of God, he said that he would testify that the owner of the staff of those who produce leaves, flowers, and apricots is the one chosen by God. That's what happened to Aaron's staff at that time. Therefore, Aaron’s rod that budded means ‘the delegation of the divine authority of the living God to his chosen people’ and ‘God who made the impossible possible’. This God protects, guides, and protects in ways beyond our understanding.

Please pray before that God and draw closer.

I said three things. The God of the Word, the God who told me to look at me in the wilderness, the God who leads His people in His ways that make impossible possible. Therefore, the ark is to know and serve God's characteristics well.

However, while moving the ark, a strange incident occurs. Ahyo is in front of the cart and Usa is going behind her. When they came to the threshing floor in Nagon, the ox ran wild, and Usa reached out and caught it. God said it was a mistake and struck him to death on the spot. Why? He is a God of love, a God of forgiveness and mercy. The problem isn't that it's there, it's that the ark has to move in God's way no matter what. ① Do not touch with your hands (Numbers 4:15) ② Do not look into it (Numbers 4:20) ③ When transporting, you must wrap it and carry it with a stick (Numbers 4:15, Exodus 25:14). But Uzzah made a new cart and touched it with her hands.

This is the part that those who serve God should pay attention to. The problem gets worse when you get to the point where you act on your own terms, give advice to people, flirt, speak out about God, act, and later try to control God. Already, the spirit of Uzzah was slowly dying.

But what about David?

He was always the Lamb before God, and God was the shepherd, the shield and the horn of victory. For a moment, he did not manage God or try to control God.

I was happy to think of the grace that He would give me, and I couldn't help but be moved by the fact that God was with me.

Everyone! Since the God of David is here today, I hope you will have a heart of joy and emotion. “God, I am so glad that you exist.”

I hope you live with that in mind.
