Title: Personal Revival/2 Kings 5:1~14
Contents Personal Revival/2 Kings 5:1~14
“… Naaman went down and immersed himself seven times in the Jordan, as the man of God had said, and his flesh was restored like that of a child, and he was clean” (2 Kings 5:1-14)
Today's era is said to be an era in which sins are not acknowledged. Modern people downplay sin and do not see it as something to be ashamed of. Even the concept of sin is fading. In times like these, we must return to the eternal truth, the Word of God. I hope you can experience personal spiritual revival through today's Word.
First, Naaman had leprosy. Naaman was a powerful Armed Forces commander in Aram, and his name means 'pleasure', but he was suffering from leprosy. I am in pain and despair. However, he hears the gospel that a prophet in Israel can heal the sick. You can be healed when you meet God who is the source of life and heals.
Second, we must obey the Word. Seeing Naaman who came to Israel, the prophet Elisha did not meet him in person, but sent his servant to tell him to go to the Jordan River and bathe seven times. Then Naaman said, "I thought he knew how to come to me and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and put his hands on him, and heal him." At this time, wise servants exhort them to obey the king. Eventually, Naaman went to the Jordan River and bathed seven times to be healed. God's Word may not fit common sense. It may be unreasonable in human thinking. However, we must obey God's Word unconditionally. If you believe and obey, you will see the glory of God.
Third, you must immerse yourself in the river of precious blood. It is not clean water that cures leprosy and cures the disease of my soul. It is faith and obedience. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and my ways are not your ways, says the LORD, For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55: 8-9)
Faith is not believing what you see. If you believe, you will see and understand. If you believe and obey, you will be saved. Only the precious blood of the cross can purify our sins. Only the blood of the cross of the Lord renews and revives us.
