Title: Peter's wife / Mark 14:66-72

Content Peter's wife

Mark 14:66-72

As Jesus ascends the Mount of Olives, he tells his disciples that you will all desert me and run away tonight.

Then Peter was one step ahead of the other disciples.

(29) “Even if I throw it all away, I will not.”

Meanwhile, when the religious leaders were sold by Judas Cayun and the soldiers came to arrest them, the disciples were horribly confused..

Promise comes from overconfidence...

To believe in yourself means to believe in your will.

{Learning, talent, wisdom, material, health...}

But! This is not the subject of Faith

Even in the present era of unbelief, many people show off their selves.

But! The object of our faith is the eternal and immutable Jesus Christ.

Peter, who was overconfident in himself, failed to keep his oath.

3 years and 6 months = Master student = The most trusted person. Witnessing the disgraceful...

Looking...

Peter's actions were bold enough to be reckless until the very end...

In the Garden of Gethsemane = even the ears of the high priest's servant {Malchu}...

And followed him to the court of the high priest...

Sit next to the fire, hide yourself in the jacket, and light the fire...

Meanwhile, someone

Peter's face is 'clear'...

At that time, a visa {maidservant} said, “You are one of them too” = Then Peter

67 “I neither know nor understand what you are talking about.”

Then he denied Jesus.

In the meantime, how much time has passed = And he said, “You are the party.”

The second wife in verse 70.

In verse 71, he curses his wife who doesn't even know to swear..[curse with harsh words..]

Peter's wife?

Because he was far away from Jesus = (54) ‘Peter followed Jesus at a distance’

When Jesus is taken away, we are afraid that he will be caught...

A believer should live a life that strives to become closer to the Lord.

ex] Even if loved ones are apart = always together [thinking, calling, paying attention..]

It's the closest...

To draw close to the Lord

Always think of the Lord, work with the Lord, and call {prayer}. attention...

Can't get away

Without this image, Jesus has no choice but to move away... Trying to get closer...

Peter was a disciple in front of people

In stark contrast to his behavior...

I can't find any sight of him who was bold enough to be reckless until the very end...

As if something would happen before the mob in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Even to the ears of the servant of the high priest... to the court...

Then he commits the sin of denying that he doesn't know now...

Even the saints commit the same sins as Peter in their lives...

Devotion, loyalty, hard work at church...but you can deny it...

Alexander [the heretic of the church in Ephesus]

(2 Timothy 4:14) Alexander, the coppersmith, did me much harm, and the Lord did to me according to his deeds.

will you repay

Believing in Christ and apostate

When you believed in Christ, you would have served, devoted, and loyal to the church...

But as an apostate...

These people are not fixed = Anyone can deny it... ex] In the past, the district manager = Now with a shaman...

So, to examine yourself and to distinguish between heaven and hell...

(72) “The rooster crowed immediately the second time. Then Peter remembered what Jesus had said to him: Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”

On the third denial, the rooster twice...remembers Jesus' words and repents...

What is repentance?

󰀲 Changing your heart and asking God for forgiveness

Peter took the word of the Lord to heart and turned completely to God in repentance...

In the record = Peter cried when he heard the crowing of a rooster...

But again, there is one person's repentance

Judas Cana = Knowing his mistake = Giving back his money = Suicide by hanging.

He repented of his wrongdoing, but he changed his heart toward God, and instead of turning away, he repented of his mistake and committed suicide

Remembering and repenting of one's mistakes and beating one's heart is not repentance.

Repentance must turn to God...

What do we need to repent of today?

Turn to God and confess that I am a sinner...

Repentance is the door through which we can see God.

But! If you do not confess your mistake to God even though you know you are a sinner, the door to see God is closed...

You can hide that sin from your family. No, neither neighbors nor friends.

Even the pastor...

But our Holy Spirit cannot deceive.

(1 Thessalonians 2:4) “But to please God, who searches our hearts.”

Confess the sins of our hearts to the Holy Spirit...

Holy Spirit! I was weak and committed this and that sin...

ex] Someone lived a shameful life in the past.. Believed in Jesus, saved, and used as a preacher.. He asked for a sermon at a church meeting on Sunday, = delivered a letter to the pulpit.. The content of the letter is that the preacher becomes a Christian. I was ashamed to record this in detail... And "If you preach, I will expose your sins in the midst of the congregation..." = Take the letter and pulpit = Read = This is true...

But when we come before our Lord, we ask for forgiveness... The fuss = The people who were hiding their sins are repenting...

If you repent of any sin today, God will forgive you

Promise of a happy life...

Even when looking at Peter and Judas Cape = A great evangelist who has repented of God..

Those who repent of their sins go to eternal hell.

if we only repent

(Isaiah 43:25) “I, even I, am the one who blots out your transgressions for my sake, and I will not remember your sins.”

either person The devil cannot condemn

God has already washed you through the blood of Jesus, and your memory is...

Then you will be washed away, repent and become righteous before God.

May you live a life of freedom...
