Title: Peter Preaching in the Temple
Introduction
Last week we saw the name of Jesus of Nazareth
I saw how great power he had.
Peter said to the lame, there is no silver and gold
When I told you to walk in the name of Jesus of Nazareth,
The crippled immediately gains strength in his ankles and legs, walking,
A miracle of running has happened.
The Holy Spirit through the Apostle Peter
It shows how great and powerful the name of Jesus is.
But after seeing a strange miracle, people's minds are easy to get excited,
The person who is often thought to have caused the miracle
They are often seen as heroes.
In some cases, it may be deified, so
This is why there are many heresies.
Therefore, we must be careful.
Anyone who performs any miracle
You must not make the mistake of deifying that person.
Also, those who have been given gifts and powers
No matter how many people around you deify and idolize
You must have the faith to shake off that greed.
Let's look at verse 11.
“All the people were astonished and ran,
They gathered together in what is called the porch of Solomon.”
People were shocked to see that the cripple had improved.
News of his wonderful healing spread throughout the temple.
People ran to Solomon's porch and surrounded him.
started flocking.
people don't even have to ask
He knew that the crippled beggar had been healed.
They've known him for over 40 years.
He had never walked.
He had been lame since the womb of his mother.
People were eager to hear an explanation of the cause of his walking.
The audience was already ready to hear the gospel.
God has given the audience grace so that they can hear the gospel.
so that the audience may hear the gospel by performing miracles
He drove the audience to Peter.
that God has driven his audience to hear the gospel
After realizing it, Peter preached the gospel without hesitation or hesitation.
Let's look at verse 12.
“Why are you marveling at this?” “Why are you paying attention to us?”
Peter said that power and godliness do not come from men.
He made the facts clear and very clear.
Humans do not have the ability to perform such miracles.
Only God performed miracles alone.
Why does God work miracles alone?
You need to know the exact reason to understand the transfer.
God works miracles so that we can believe in Jesus through the miracles
He worked miracles in order to gain life.
In Matthew 9,
Jesus performed miracles of healing the paralytic
You said:
“I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority in the world to forgive sins.
And he said to the paralytic, “Get up, take your bed and go home.”
Jesus performed the miracle of giving birth to a paralytic
Let them know that Jesus has the authority to forgive sins, so that they
He performed miracles so that we might have eternal life.
Therefore, miracles have to do with eternal life.
In Exodus 14, God used Moses.
He divides the Red Sea and performs the miracle of burying the Egyptians.
Rahab, a prostitute from Jericho, heard the news of the miracle.
Open the door to your heart in Joshua 2
Confess by faith that only God is the true God,
His body will be saved and his soul will be saved.
But when the people of Jericho heard the news of this miracle, their chatter melted away.
Close the door more in the heart and lock the gates of the gates with a bolt, so that body and soul
that was destined to perish.
In this way, miracles become the standard for dividing believers and unbelievers through miracles.
Let's look at verse 13.
“You hand me over”
Even though Jesus was innocent, people “delivered” the Son of God.
handed over to be crucified.
Those who handed Jesus over to be crucified
It wasn't just the people of Jesus' day.
Everyone who has ever lived has done that.
We are all the ones who handed him over to be crucified.
Let's look at verse 14.
“You deny the holy and the righteous”
Even Pilate, the Roman governor, knew this.
that any accusation against him is not justified
Nevertheless, because they hated what Jesus was claiming,
He denied and rejected the holy and righteous Jesus.
Rejection was not enough, so I hoped to get rid of him as soon as possible.
People must either get rid of Jesus or submit to His claims.
But unfortunately most people
They make wrong decisions based on their own sins, pride, stubbornness, and prejudice.
Let's look at verse 15.
“He released a murderer and put to death the Lord of life.”
You make the wrong decision to release the murderer and kill the life lord.
People wanted a sinner and murderer even more than the Son of God.
Sin instead of holiness, injustice rather than righteousness,
Deciding decay rather than immortality, death rather than life,
You killed the Lord of Life.
But God saved Jesus.
“God raised him from the dead, and we are witnesses of these things.”
After Jesus was resurrected, at least until he ascended into heaven.
He appeared about ten times.
Peter also saw the resurrected Jesus, so I am the witness on this day.
that's what you're talking about
Eleven of Jesus' disciples were martyred while witnessing the resurrection of Jesus.
Who can lay down his life to prove a lie?
There is not.
Because he saw the Lord who died and was resurrected, he gave up his life.
Because I saw the Lord who died and was resurrected
They believed that they were resurrected after death and were martyred.
We also believe that after we die we will be resurrected.
Miracles happen only when you believe in its name.
Let's look at verse 16.
“By faith in his name
His name has consecrated this man whom you have seen and known.”
The true faith that accompanies the work of miracles is the faith through Jesus.
In Mark 9, Jesus heals a boy possessed by a demon.
But before healing, Jesus said to his unbelieving father
“What do you mean if it is possible? Nothing is impossible for those who believe.”
It is easy for Jesus to heal a boy possessed by a demon.
But why did Jesus troublesomely heal the demon-possessed boy?
He wants to hear the confession of his father's faith
Do you have pity on that unbelief and help me to believe?
If you are healed without faith, your father's faith will be shaken.
Because something worse than experiencing miracles happens.
No matter how sick or painful you are, if you have faith in the Lord,
there's no problem
If you are healed and doubt your faith or forsake your faith, that is a great thing.
Therefore, when Jesus gave him grace in faith and he had that faith,
By showing that miracles happen, so that we can overcome any difficulties after that.
First of all, you have to confess your faith.
Therefore, the healing of our physical ailments and the forgiveness of our spiritual sins
Faith in Jesus Christ is truly precious.
Everyone, without exception, is destined to sin and live without faith.
Let's look at verse 17.
“Brothers, you did this because you did not know.
I know that your officers do the same.”
Jesus came to heal you, set you free, and give you grace.
It means that you have sinned because you do not believe.
But even now it is not too late
Repent and live a new life
Then your life will be filled with joy. I recommend.
Let's look at verse 19.
“Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.
In this way, the days of rejoicing will come from the presence of the Lord.”
The word turning means to go back again.
People must repent and return to God again.
If people turn their lives to God and change his behavior,
Two things will happen.
His sins are “taken away.”
His sins are like handwriting on the wall being erased and wiped away.
It is erased, wiped, rubbed off, and left without a trace.
Jesus gives “days of rejoicing” to those who repent.
Joy and joy, grace and blessing, rest and rest, revival and energy, strength and devotion,
He gives salvation and liberation.
He gives you days of joy now, and He gives you more in the future.
Let's look at verse 20.
“And the Lord will send the Christ whom he has ordained for you, Jesus.”
Jesus Christ is now in heaven,
He is preparing a place for us to dwell forever until He comes again.
He will come again when that place is ready.
Jesus promised to come again in John 14:2-3.
“In my father's house there are many dwelling places. Otherwise, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you; if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am, you may be also.”
The day when Jesus returns is a day of joy and hope for us.
To those who did not believe in Jesus and lived according to their own opinions,
It will be the day of judgment.
Let's look at verse 23.
“Whoever does not listen to the prophet
shall be destroyed from among his people.”
Moses in Deuteronomy 18:14-19
It was prophesied that God would send the Messiah to this earth.
The prophets after that, including Samuel, also witnessed the coming and judgment of God's prophets.
prophesied.
Those who do not believe in the Messiah sent by God
No one, without exception, will perish.
To perish is to completely lose a man's happiness,
Its existence is consumed and destroyed, and it is reduced to a useless existence.
This does not mean that the perishing person no longer exists.
This is because people are destroyed and desolated,
You will be cursed as a useless being.
He will suffer forever to be consumed, lost, and destroyed.
According to Revelation 20:15
“Whoever was not written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.”
It is revealed.
conclusion
In the days of the apostle Peter's ministry
Just as people flocked to see the miracle
Even in this age in which we live, many people flock to see the miracle.
The reality is that many side effects occur as a result.
People who have been taught wrongly are deceived by it and suffer great disappointment.
We often hear it through newspapers and information media.
It's a sad reality.
However, just because such side effects occurred, he denied the transfer itself and
Staying away is not what a true believer looks like.
Migration is still necessary today.
who can testify of the gospel to those who suffer from the bondage of sin and death
Because it can be a good stepping stone.
Don't miss the opportunity when given
I hope they are spiritually sensitive and boldly testify of the gospel.
If we have the thrill of being saved, we can testify of the gospel.
By God's grace, He chose us who deserve to be destroyed forever.
You can testify with thanksgiving because you have made him a child of God.
This privilege of bearing witness to the gospel is the privilege of having the fleshly blood of Abraham.
This is a privilege that even an Israeli cannot enjoy.
Even though they are called the people of Israel, unless they are born again of the spirit,
Because the Messiah is unknown and unbelievable
You cannot testify to the gospel.
We become children of God by being born again spiritually.
Those who are born again as children of God have joy, joy, rest, and peace.
No one can take away this peace and rest.
Jesus is coming again. The clouds are coming again.
He will come again when a place for us to live is prepared.
Hoping for that day to come soon
Until the day when Jesus comes, let us all focus on saving souls.
Hallelujah
