We can see that the love Philemon possessed in today's text is a love that gives great enlightenment to the believers living in this age and generation.
Philemon was a leader among the members of the Colossian church.
Not only did he have considerable wealth, he was also a man of deep faith and love.
He even offered his home as a place of worship, and his entire family held important positions in the church.
As you can see, the letter Paul wrote to Philemon, who did not spare himself to serve the church both physically and mentally, is full of words that show his love for him.
Philemon, in particular, was famous as a man of love.
His name, Philemon, also means “bearer of love.”
As such, he was a person who cherished love and took the lead in living a life that exerted the beautiful influence of Christ by putting love into practice in the early church at that time.

Then, like Philemon in the text, what kind of power will be revealed if we possess love?
First, Philemon, who possessed love, showed the ability to overflow with gratitude.
When he heard the news that Philemon was dealing with the church members and God with love and faith, the apostle Paul became grateful to God.
Philemon's practice of love sowed the seeds of thanksgiving in the heart of the apostle Paul.
Love creates gratitude.
Where there are loved ones, there are people to be grateful for.
And the beautiful power of God is revealed where people who live in gratitude gather.
There are many people around us who live without gratitude.
There are people who live a life full of complaints and complaints.
Dissatisfaction with work, dissatisfaction with superiors, dissatisfaction with life, dissatisfaction with family, dissatisfaction with church, etc.
But in fact, it is the people who complain about all these complaints who want to be loved.
That is why the saints who have love must fulfill the role of light and salt so that their lives can be filled with gratitude by sharing love with those who do not know this love.
I ask in the name of the Lord that the love of Christ will be witnessed through all of you gathered here today, and that our church will become a church that can share love.
Second, Philemon, who possessed love, showed power that overflowed with blessings.
The apostle Paul says Philemon's fellowship of faith, or sharing of love, makes people know the blessings they have in Christ.
This means that one person's blessing is shared with all, so that everyone can share in the blessing.
An act of love is sharing your blessings with others.
And such an act of love has the power to extend personal blessings to community blessings.
There are many people around us who think they are unhappy.
There are people who think that they have not met their parents well, and there are those who think that they have not met their children well.
There are people who think that there is nothing right in everything they do, and there are people who think that life is a no-brainer.
All these people are in need of love.
We are already living a life of enjoying God's great blessings and grace through the love of Jesus Christ.

Third, in Philemon, who possessed love, the power of overflowing peace was revealed.

Love gives new strength to a community that is weak and weak
There are many people around us who are losing the courage to live.
