Title /Philippians 2:19-2:24
Content It seems that there are too many selfish people around us these days who only know themselves. The countless stories told to our ears through the mass media often make our hearts sad. Some people are struggling to break up their bodies by investing their lives towards the underprivileged, while others abuse their freedom and abuse their innocent neighbors who are trying to make a good living. If you look at those who are willing to kill, you are reminded of the days of Noah. It is thought that the city of Sodom and Gomorrah is not right here. Even though we are people who should be helpful to each other, we have hostility toward each other and any acts that violate our trust for our own status must be expelled. should be The text speaks of the great joy that can be enjoyed among Christians. This is speaking of true joy that only Christians can share, which cannot be shared in the world.
First, a genuine Christian life should be mutually encouraging (v. 19). In order to be mutually encouraging, it becomes encouragement when you know what the mission entrusted to you is. In this age of many children who make their parents suffer, I think that those who are aware of their duty and walk toward the right goal are doing the greatest filial piety.
Do you recognize a clear mission?
Are you trying to be of the same mind?
Do you understand each other?
The only way to solve all of these problems is to respect each other better and to surround ourselves with humility.
Second, it is encouraged through the work of Christ, that is, the spiritual work (vv. 20-21). There are those who work for their own interests rather than live their lives for the glory of Christ. “Some preach Christ with a good will, some with envy (envy) and strife (competition)” (Philippians 1:15). They accept whatever is beneficial to them, and they judge only by what they see in front of them rather than looking at things with spiritual insight. These things are not worthy of Christ. In order to approach God more actively, we need to prepare a life in the same way that Timothy pursued the work of Jesus Christ, even though he was weak and weak.
① He is a young man. "Let no one despise your youth..." (1 Timothy 4:12).
Third, it is encouraged through mature people (verses 22-24). A mature person refers to a person who has been trained ( ). In other words, it is used when referring to passing the test by smelting gold or silver to make it a pure state by removing all foreign substances. Also, when it is said that he knows his stage ( ), it means that he knows already through experience.
What we call discipline in our life is not something that is done by people, but a life that is disciplined by Christ Himself. Therefore, we must arm ourselves with the Word and maintain inner purity so that the Holy Spirit can rule our lives. Moreover, we should not neglect our prayer life, realizing that only Jesus Christ can help us.
Let us be an encouragement to all by obeying one another with one heart and one mind in humility in the work entrusted to us.†
