Sermons for Preaching

Title /Philippians 4:14-20

It is said that there are four styles of human style. First, in general style, mine is mine and yours is yours. The second is a different style, mine is yours and yours is mine. The third is a style with a strong sense of justice. Mine is yours and yours is yours. The fourth is bad style, saying that mine is mine and yours is mine. People's lives are very different, but the Christian life must be lived in a different style from the life of this world. Let's find out about the spiritual style of Christians through the text.

First, there is the blessing of giving and receiving with each other.

The phrase "I have everything" is a commercial term, which means "You owe me in full and in abundance." A fragrant offering is an Old Testament concept. It means that God has indulged the sacrifice offered to God. The Christian life should be a life of spiritual sacrifice. "Present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God" The realm of life we can offer is to take responsibility for every word we say with our lips, and furthermore, to offer our whole body to God. Each and every act we are doing now can be a fragrant sacrifice to God. Sharing the needs of our brothers, offering material to the Lord, serving with our bodies, hospitality to strangers, and caring for the poor are like this.

Second, there is a blessing that God and his children (Christians) enjoy through giving and receiving.

“My God will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Glory to God and our Father for ever and ever, Amen.”

(Philippians 4:19 -20) You provided for my needs, but God provides for your needs. The reward is given to the saints through the union of Christ according to its riches in glory in Christ Jesus. “And seeing the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, and being transformed into the same image, was made glory to glory.” In glory means that they are in glory. That glory is the glory of the most holy, and later the glory of eternal life. God's hand of provision from above is possible because we first became his property.

To say "my God" has the meaning of possession. It does not mean that I am God, but that God owns me. At the same time, it means that we are privileged to enjoy tremendous blessings. Another reason is that because we trust and rely on Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, we are now children of God and the blessed life that His children enjoy is the hand of God's provision. When God says “everything you use” is not all that a Christian wants, it means that it is what God wants, that is, something suitable for God to use in His work, that is, it is according to His will. We have several needs. God provides for all of these needs. God provides enough for his children to live with their physical needs, and when they have spiritual needs, God gives them the growth of faith, makes them grow abundantly in love, gives them hope for a brighter future, and gives them fullness and diversity. He distributes all the grace of Ham evenly.

We are

Let's meet each other's needs.

Let's live a life of mutual gratitude.

Let us thank God for the provision.

Let's glorify God every moment.
