Title: Plant a Mustard Seed
Contents
<Chan 246 with the kingdom of my lord>
Spring is the sowing season. When we look at human growth, we can compare childhood and youth to spring. Every seed has a season to sow. It bears fruit when sown in an appropriate season.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 For everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to uproot
Now is the best season for sowing. So, what does the mustard seed in today's text mean?
1. A mustard seed represents the growth of heaven.
A mustard seed is a small seed, like a dot made with a ballpoint pen. The kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God began with a seed as small as a mustard seed planted in his field. The Lord uses the parable of heaven today to compare it to a small mustard seed. Through the atoning death of Jesus, he says:
John 12:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.
Jesus died from a single grain of wheat. We are saved because Jesus died on the cross for our sins. In the Gospel of Matthew, the text is called the kingdom of heaven, and in the Gospels of Mark and Luke, the text is expressed as “the kingdom of God.” This seed is said to grow to about 3m-5m once it sprouts and grows. So verse 2 says: Matthew 13:32 It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, and the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.
□ What do you mean? The gospel of the kingdom of God began with Abraham, the father of faith.
The gospel of the kingdom of God, like a mustard seed, has spread to the whole world through Jesus, the apostles, Paul, Europe, America, Korea, and world missionaries. I believe that the gospel has established the kingdom of God and the kingdom of heaven in our house, our church, and your family today.
What does seed mean?
1) Say the word.
Matthew 13:11 He answered and said, To you it was granted to know the secrets of the kingdom, but not to them
Matthew 13:19 When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and takes away what is sown in his heart, which is the one sown by the wayside.
Matthew 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the sons of the kingdom; the weeds are the sons of the evil one.
2) Tell the lesson.
Col 2:6 Therefore, since you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in him
Col 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, standing firm in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
Colossians 2:8 Beware lest anyone plunder you with philosophy and vain deceit, according to the traditions of men and the elementary sciences of the world, and not according to Christ.
Col 2:9 In him all the fullness of the divinity dwells bodily,
3. It speaks of the kingdom of God.
Luke 17:20 When the Pharisees asked when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus answered and said, The kingdom of God does not come with sight.
Luke 17:21 Nor can it be said that it is here or there, for the kingdom of God is within you.
The words of the main character, Balian, were engraved in my mind through the movie Kingdom of Haven that I saw at church last week. The kingdom of God is in my mind and heart. So, instead of giving the city of Jerusalem, which is called the Holy Land, to the Muslim general Saladin, he leaves the city saying that he will no longer shed the precious blood of the people… … . What is truly the kingdom of God?
□ Therefore, when the seed, which is the word of God, is in our hearts, when the teachings of the Lord reign in our hearts, and when the Spirit of the Lord rules and rules us, we want you to believe that we are living in the kingdom of heaven. When you receive the Lord's rule, rule, and guidance in your heart and mind, in your home, in your life, at work, and at school, believe that the kingdom of God is the kingdom of heaven.
2. The mustard seed grows through our mission and evangelism.
The parable of the mustard seed in the text teaches the worldwide growth and influence of the kingdom of heaven. Although the beginning is small, it starts with 'smaller than all seeds'. But in the end, it promises great growth.
What a foolish idea if a person expects to reap fruit without planting a seed.
God makes a man reap what he sows.
2 Corinthians 9:6 This is the saying, whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
And he who sows nothing certainly reaps nothing. Therefore, those who expect great growth, even if it is a 'small thing' or 'minor thing', should plant and see it first.
□ Therefore, immediately we must sow the seed of the Word on the souls we meet. We must sow the seeds of evangelism.
1 Corinthians 3:6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God made it grow.
1 Corinthians 3:7 Wherefore, neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who makes it grow.
1 Corinthians 3:8 The one who plants and the one who waters are common, but each will receive his own reward according to his work.
1 Corinthians 3:9 We are God's fellow workers; you are God's field and God's house.
should be planted should run If you don't plant, there will be no fruit. Heaven did not spread all over the world overnight. Even now, there are countless families where the kingdom of God is not ruled. We should plant a mustard seed in the students studying, in the homes of relatives, in the houses of neighbors, and in the houses of shamans. Although the starting point is small and insignificant, it is barely noticeable, but when the mustard seed grows, Incheon, Bucheon, Korea, and the whole world will take over the kingdom of God. Then the Lord comes.
3. What are the results of planting a mustard seed?
1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I understood like a child, I thought like a child. But when I became a man, I gave up childish things.
-Ephesians 4:13 And we will all become one in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, until we become a perfect man, to the fulness of the stature of the stature of Christ.
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
Gal 5:23 meekness and self-control; against such things there is no law.
□ A small mustard seed grows into a mature person, abandons childishness, becomes a perfect person, becomes full of faith like Jesus, and the kingdom of heaven bears the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Not only that, the nesting birds of the air means that wandering and wandering people flock to the shelter of the soul, the nest of the soul. It is like a bird soaked in cold and rain perched under the eaves. Starting today, we will start parenting training. I pray that faith will grow and grow through further nurture and bear another fruit.
<Conclusion>
The kingdom of God is “the people of God who are governed by God in the dwelling place of God.” There is a heavenly heaven, but it is heaven and the kingdom of God when my heart is governed (ruled) by the Lord. Therefore, those who are governed by Jesus Christ are the true people of God. Those who are ruled by the Lord as King and are led by the Lord, the home where the Lord lives, the workplace where the Lord works, and the place where Jesus is with me in the temple of my heart is heaven and the kingdom of God.
Our mission today is to become a channel for the Kingdom of God to come into all areas of this earth where I live, my worldview, politics, culture, art, ecology, science, home, education, mass media, and economy. to be. Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Only then will the kingdom of God be completed when the Lord returns. I pray that it will be the season of the gospel when we do our best to sow, evangelize, and nurture the seeds of the Word in our families, neighbors, and everyone we meet for the reign of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit who lives and lives in our hearts. *)
