Title: "Restore Me"
Text: Psalm 51:11-12
2 Samuel 11 = David was seized by Bathsheba's beauty while bathing and committed a crime against Bathsheba
Looking at the words of today's text, David is most afraid of being cut off from God and falling into loneliness because of his sin.
He says that the most enjoyable life of a believer is neither eating nor drinking, but rejoicing and rejoicing in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17-18).
But David's sin makes his soul tired and weary, and why is it that the frustration of "My soul is restless" makes him tired.
So he appeals to him not to take the Holy Ghost from him and says, “Do not cast me out of your presence, and do not take your Holy Spirit from me” (11).
David's confession is that he deserves punishment, but he is begging for punishment that only cuts off from God.
And it is an appeal to restore the joy of salvation on a higher level so that we can live a new life. This is to restore the joy of the heart that can be obtained through fellowship with God.
to restore me
1. The relationship with God is restored.
Isaiah 1:15 “When you spread out your hands, I will cover your eyes, and you will pray a lot, but I will not hear you, for your hands are full of blood.”
◎ When you open your hands, reaching out to the sky is the most common prayer posture in the Old Testament times. It is a visible expression of an inner desire to draw even a little closer to God.
However, it is said that even if you open your hands and pray, God does not cover your eyes. That is because there are unresolved things with God.
◎ The fact that even if you pray a lot, you don't hear it, it is a wonderful thing if you think about it from the prayer side. No matter how loud and long they cry, they are nothing but vain gestures and hollow echoes. The reason is, "Your hands are full of blood." Because of sin, you are cut off from God, and prayers do not reach you. Therefore, asking for restoration is to pour out the spirit of repentance so that we can repent of our sins (Acts 11:18). Not only that, sin blocks even the good things that come from above (Jeremiah 5:25).
So, to recover is to repent and restore your relationship with the Lord (Acts 8:22).

2. The joy of life is restored.
Acts 3:19 "Repent therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, that the days of rejoicing will come from the presence of the Lord."
David cried out, "I confess my iniquity, and I grieve over my sins" (Psalm 38:18).
The psalmist emphasizes that in his dire situation, the only way to solve the situation is to confess and declare to God his sins, which were also the cause of all unhappiness (Psalm 32:1-2).
God's children also face various adversity while living on the earth. One of the main reasons is that sin has put a barrier between them and God.
So David confessed (Psalm 32:3), "When I did not vomit, I groaned all day long, so that my bones grew weak." This shows David's experience when he first had to suffer severe conscience when he hid his sin without confessing it. To groan here well describes his severe conscience that was unbearable. Moreover, his groaning continued all day, and the suffering of his conscience was indescribable.
In addition, his conscience torment led to physical illness. In particular, it was said that the close relationship between disease was that my bones were weakened.
If you groan in sin, you can become physically ill.
However, if you repent, you can also bring about sickness, you can restore joy and your physical health.
The author of Proverbs said, A joy in the heart is good medicine, but a sorrow in the heart dries up the bones. When joy is restored, physical pain is gone and health is restored.

3. Everything will be restored.
Job 42:10 "Job prayed for his friends, and the Lord restored Job's plight, and gave him twice as much as he had before."
Job had a bad relationship with his friends. But he prayed for them, and God heard their prayers and forgave their sins (Luke 6:37-38).
That moment was a climax and a glorious turning point for Job.
As the friendship is restored, his illness is healed, his financial problems are resolved, and everything begins to recover, and the recovery is miraculously quick.
Human relationships are very strange and important.
When Job was in trouble, that is, when he lost his ten children, his wealth, and his health was also deteriorating, his friends harshly rebuked him for sin (Job 4:7-9).
Those words were not erased from Job's heart, and there was no way to hide his disappointment. So I did not have the heart to pray for my friends. But after repenting (Job 42:6), he realized that what he was thinking was wrong and when he prayed for his friends, God healed Job, restored his material, and gave his children as before.
Human relationships are very precious to receive blessings.
The Apostle John said, "If anyone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar. He who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen" (1 John 4:20). )
And the Lord said, (Matthew 5:23-24) "Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift at the altar and go first, be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift. give it to you." Therefore, we must know the truth that the secret to restoring everything is that human relationships are smooth. (Please hold hands with the person next to us.)
And please follow me. Sorry. Forgive me. Love it.
What are you sorry for? We should be sorry for not praying for each other. What should I ask for forgiveness? We need to ask forgiveness for not trusting each other.
Love it. This means! No matter what happens in the future, we must love in the Lord. This is our confession to each other.
Through the recovery of this time today, I believe that all things will go well in the future.
"conclusion"
Recovery is a very good word. Restoration (恢復) means to refrain from returning health or property to its former state. Job returned to his original state. Health, material, and family peace were all restored. In the same vein, we wish to be restored to the joy of salvation, from sorrow to joy, from suffering to health. And I hope that it will be restored in every way so that the sorrows of the past will be saved and there will be only joy, and I hope that the amazing work of restoration in all aspects will be accomplished through a right relationship with God and a right relationship with humans.
