Bible: John 11:25-26 Title: Possessing Eternal Life
In the text, “I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if they die, will live, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” he said at the house of Lazarus.
And Jesus proved this by rising from the dead.
1. The meaning of death
In the Bible, the concept of death is divided into the first death and the second death.
The first death is the death of Adam's sin, which is the death of mankind and the death of all individuals (cf. Romans 5:12,17).
The second death refers to the eternal punishment of the resurrected ones being cast into the fire after the final judgment before the throne of God (cf. Rev. 20:14, 21:8).
2. Eternal Life
Eternal life refers to the form of life given to the resurrected life.
Eternal life is divided into “life of eternal life” and “life of eternal punishment”.
A life of eternal life is a blessed life, and a life of eternal punishment is a cursed life.
There is no separation between these two lives. It's just eternal life. Blessings are eternal and curses are eternal.
3. Eternal Life
The life of eternal life that regenerated ones gain by participating in the resurrection of life is a life in which all the tragic elements of their earthly life have been removed (cf. (cf. Rom. 8:17-18, Rev. 7: 9-12).
Because the life of eternal life is a life of complete union with God and His Son, Jesus Christ, there is true joy, peace, freedom, and rest.
The life of eternal life is a life in which God's purpose of creation is fulfilled (Genesis 1:28-31).
There is no death in Christ. There is only eternal life.
