Title: Pray

Bible/Luke 18:1-14

Through this parable, our Lord commands His disciples to pray kindly. From the Sermon on the Mount we learn that Jesus wanted his disciples to pray.

Matthew 6:05 And when you pray, do not be like hypocrites, for they love to stand in the synagogues and at the entrance to the streets to be seen by men. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.

Matthew 6:06 When you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Matthew 6:07 And when you pray, do not keep babbling like the Gentiles, for they think that they will hear you because they talk a lot.

Although Matthew 6:5-7 does not explicitly express the command to pray with all your soul, our Lord uses an indirect way of saying, “But when you pray”.

Prayer is a channel of conversation.

Parents take it for granted that their devotedly caring children hope to associate and communicate with them. This is not a parental order. It is something that comes from the heart of your child and you do it yourself.

Luke 18:1-8 probably means that the Lord gave this command in the form of a parable, knowing that there are those who think they are too busy to pray, and there are those who find it useless to pray. (Bible text commentary)

The Lord gave this parable to encourage those who have prayed in the past but have not heard any answers, and to show that prayer is a continuous, non-stop prayer.

We need to realize the particular motive for the Lord giving us this parable, which we can interpret as a command to pray.

Our Lord knew that if the disciples would get into the habit of praying, they would have abundant lives, otherwise the opposite would come. In other words, he knew that living without prayer would lead to poverty and many difficulties in life.

That's why Jesus said to pray.

Prayer is God's ordained channel so that God's children can receive what they need.

When we are in danger from the devil, God draws close to us through prayer (James 4:7-8) “Therefore submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw close to God. Then he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and sanctify your hearts, you double-minded.”

We gain the assurance that our sins are forgiven through repentance and prayer of faith.

Through faith and prayer of thanksgiving, we obtain the peace of God who makes all things bearable (Philippians 4:6-7) “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving turn to God Tell them, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

"conclusion"

Many people think of prayer as a monologue telling God about his needs.

But a good prayer is a conversation between Heavenly Father and His children.

When we hear the voice of God, we are assured of the peace of God who rules all things even in the storm, His companionship, forgiveness, and our children.

Do you love God? Pray if you love,

To prove that we love the Lord, we must obey the command to pray repeatedly to our Heavenly Father. If you do not obey this command, you will lose the joy of fellowship with God and the joy of serving God. As we fellowship with God, our joy will increase and we will practice the most precious duty of man to worship God.

Worship: It is to offer something worthy of special respect.

1. What is man's primary purpose?

(Answer): The chief purpose of man is to glorify God and to enjoy him forever.

The more we share, the greater the joy,

The more difficulties you share, the less you share. Therefore, it is necessary to share a life.
