Title: Pray / Romans 15:7
Contents Pray/Romans 15:7
Key Verse: “I have heard your prayer, and I have seen your tears. I will add fifteen years to your days, and I will deliver you and your opposite city from the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will protect this city again” (verses 5-6).
Word: The thirteenth king of the southern kingdom of Judah was Hezekiah. In his 29 years in office, international politics was chaotic. It was a time when the northern kingdom of Israel was falling to Assyria. At this time, King Hezekiah fell seriously ill. The prophet Isaiah, who had come to consolation, returned with a prophecy saying, “You will die of this disease.” Hezekiah's heart burned like fire. 'no. I must not die now.’ With that in mind, I turned my face to the wall and began to pray. And started weeping. In other words, he began to offer a wailing prayer to God.
Hezekiah heard the desperate news, but he did not despair and prayed. This prayer was different from the prayers offered at the prayer meeting or prayers offered according to the order of the ceremony. It was a prayer that he supported himself, judging that he would die if he did not pray. As a result, God's answer came. “I have heard your prayers and have seen your tears. I will live another 15 years and I will protect this city. As a proof, the shadow of the sun will retreat ten degrees.” God heard and answered Hezekiah's tears. In addition to extending Hezekiah's life, He also gave a wonderful sign of moving the sun in the sky as an added bonus. How wonderful is the appearance of God answering earnest prayers?
There is such a gospel song. “Why are you worried when you can pray/Why are you anxious while praying/Why are you disappointed when you can pray/Why are you wandering while praying/Kneel before the Lord and ask for help/Why do you worry when you can pray with a pure heart and all your soul? Do you/why do you worry while praying?”
That's right. Prayer is the power that moves the throne of God. Indeed, prayer has great power. Prayer is a conversation with God. Prayer also changes the order of the universe. Dear saints, do you want to fall down with the weight of life on your shoulders? That is the spiritual signal to pray harder and the alarm clock sounds. We need to pray every time we face difficulties and pray more earnestly whenever we have big problems, so that we can draw closer to the Lord through those difficulties and problems and increase the number of beautiful testimonies in our lives.
Prayer is our truth. Prayer is our hope. It should be a year of fervent prayer at home, at work, and at church. I hope that it will be a year of prayer that extends life span, heals sickness, and receives power to lead the world to victory through prayer.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, this year, help us to be prayerful prayers who solve problems through prayer and win through prayer. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
