Title: Pray Always and Don't Give Up

Contents

Pray always and never lose heart

Luke 18:1-8

A few days ago, a housewife in England was trying to throw away her old bag and found a crumpled lottery ticket. If I had just thrown it away, I would have missed the opportunity to receive 200 million won. But what if each of us has the privilege that God has given us, but we throw it away every day? A privilege is given, but it is useless if it is not taken out and used. It would be a pity if we put the special grace given to us so that the little ones can make a thousand and live a life like the wings of an eagle, and put it in an old bag and throw it away. The impossible is called rocking with an egg. However, the prayers of real saints experience the miracle of breaking rocks with eggs.

Jesus spoke in parables. There was an unjust judge. He did not fear God and ignored people. In contrast, there was a widow, represented by the weakest of the weak. A powerful judge, and the weakest widow before an unjust judge. This widow had suffered damage from her enemies and became a grudge. But there was only one judge who could avenge the resentment. This widow had a desperate need to live without a judge. So I begged and begged again. The unjust judge was troubled and troubled, and he granted the widow's plea. How much more will God hear the prayers of those who cry out day and night? Why don't the saints pray? How should we pray?

1. The goal should be clear.

Just as an archer needs to aim at a target, so does prayer. The widow's goal was to settle a grudge against her enemies. This goal is not a do-it-yourself goal. It is something that must be done. You must have a purpose in life. That is the basis for supplication and communion with God. If you don't have a purpose in life, you don't pray. Even if you have a goal, if you are not earnest, you will not pray. Set clear goals and pray. May you have values and purpose in the eyes of God.

2. We must trust God's promises.

Another reason we don't pray is because we don't know or believe in God's promises. God's law that answers those who pray is, "If you abide in me and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you" (John 15:7). The widow knew her duty as a judge. I knew there was a law that even an unjust judge could not refuse. How much less will the righteous God fulfill his promises? Human pride drives away grace and leads to loss of faith. We are swept away by the waves of doubt and lose the confidence of the Word. Do you believe in common sense and God's Word and promises?

3. There must be a wish of passion.

Goals must be certain, and then there must be passion. The widow cried day and night for revenge. She was a powerless widow, but she was focused and passionate. When Hannah was despised by Peninnah because she had no children and prayed earnestly to God, Eli Priest saw it and misunderstood that she was drunk. Even when the lion, the king of animals, catches the rabbit, you must do your best. A life without effort, a loss of passion, and a life that is insignificant becomes a life of insignificance.

Jesus sees those who believe (verse 8). Without faith, we do not pray. Even if you pray, you will stop in a formality and do not expect anything. Even if you expect it, you give up easily. Let's not limit God to our thoughts, but set goals and pray. Let's keep our promises. Let us pray with passion. I hope you will experience God's great work of responding to those who ask in faith in your life and be victorious.
