Title: Pray for the mission / Luke 22:44

Pray for the mission / Luke 22:44

“Jesus prayed more earnestly and with all his might, and his sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground” (Luke 22:44).

Word: Every Christian is a disciple of Jesus. Disciples, large or small, each have their own cross that suits their level. The cross represents mission. Missions can be difficult. What do those who carry the cross of this mission need the most? That's prayer.

Jesus came to give his life as a ransom for many. That is the cross. The cross of Jesus is not something that can be carried casually. The Lord prayed in front of the cross of unspeakable suffering. The Lord's prayer was a life-or-death prayer. Jesus came to Gethsemane on a mission. In a place where no one was with him, Jesus offered a bloody and sweaty prayer. If we are the Lord's disciples, we must learn this prayer of the Lord. Occasionally, there are people who have a negative opinion about crying out prayers, such as “Is God deaf, or does it have to be that way to hear? They emphasize alcove prayer. Even if you pray in secret, he hears and knows everything.

Of course, I admit that close room prayer is necessary. I know that meditation and contemplative prayer are necessary. But no one goes beyond the Bible or the prayers of Jesus. Could it be that Jesus did not know how to meditate or pray contemplatively, so he prayed with blood and sweat? It's not like that. Jesus is the One who prays in the Holy Spirit without fail. If Jesus cried out like that for his mission, what would we do? Through our cry of prayer, Satan is bound and the kingdom of heaven is expanded.

Look at the early church. To spread the gospel to the ends of the earth that the Lord had left, they devoted themselves to prayer. The Holy Spirit was at work in their prayers. The Holy Spirit was at work in their prayers and the gospel was preached all over the world today.

Whether you look at the history of Christianity or the great revival movement in Pyongyang in 1907, God works wherever you pray. The same is true today. Prayer is alive in every revival church in the global village. All churches where intercessors are actively living are revitalized. If the amount of prayer is filled, you will be able to carry out your mission more beautifully. You can fulfill your mission with joy. As a warrior of faith, you can make strong progress without being rough. Remembering this fact, we must take the step of faith toward prayer.
