Title: Prayer (Ex 14:15-20)
Contents All day long, a month, or a whole year of praying alone does not mean being awake. Jesus said to his disciples, “Couldn’t you have stayed awake like this for an hour with me?” (Matthew 26:40). The prayer we pray before we start our day's life is to make the heavenly armies of angels watch over us all day long. Also, when you start any project, you pray first, and if you start, God will keep you awake and watch over you until the project is finished. Therefore, the short time of awake and prayer can be a blessing for a day, a month, a year, and a lifetime.
What is our job to do is to open the gates of God's throne - that is, the kingdom of heaven.
If you pray,
① Faith does not fail, and strong faith, living faith, rock-like faith, and powerful faith work.
② The Holy Spirit works, works, helps, fills, and gives gifts and enriches us. So Jesus prayed too. He prayed all night long (Luke 6:12). He taught prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). He told many parables about prayer (Luke 11:1-13, 18). Also, following his custom, he went to the mountains to pray with his disciples (Luke 22:39), and he was victorious through prayer to the end.
③ You can win the battle against the devil.
The devil hates to pray. The devil trembles in fear when he prays.
Francis - “Prayer is the sword of the saints.”
Billy Sunday - “No devil can take away the children of a praying mother.”
The only thing the devil is afraid of is prayer. He ridicules our efforts and downplays our wisdom, so we should know that prayer is the only way to victory in the fight against the devil.
Even the apostles asked all the churches for one help. In particular, it can be seen that the Apostle Paul and his companions asked each church to pray “for us” by letter (Romans 15:30-32, 2 Corinthians 1:11, Ephesians 6:19, Colossians 4:3, 1 Thessalonians 5: 25, 2 Thessalonians 3:1-3, Hebrews 13:18).
Colossians 1:3 - Pray also for us, that God may open the door for us to preach, that we may tell the mystery of Christ; for this I am bound.
1 Thessalonians 5:25 - Pray for us, brethren.
The Bible teaches us that amazing things happened when we prayed for others (Acts 12:5-When Peter was in prison, the church prayed for him, and amazing things happened).
④ We took God's hand and received God's help. From now on, we will live by the power of God who is holding our hand, not our own.
So before you pray and after you pray are two different things. Our enemies are bound, and instead, God is working among us.
Moses was a man of prayer (Numbers 10:35-36). He always fell down (Ex. 4:31, 36:8-9). he cried.
Numbers 10:35-36 As the ark departed, Moses said, "Arise, O LORD, and shed your enemies, and let those who hate you perish from your presence." And when the ark rested, he said, "Return, O LORD, to the ten thousand thousands of Israel."
Exodus 34:8 Moses fell hastily to the ground and worshiped, saying, "Lord, if I have found favor with you, please do it among us, for it is a stiff-necked people. Forgive us our iniquity and our sins, and make us your inheritance."
Snow White of Israel experienced, saw, and experienced many graces, but even the small test that came upon them could not endure and made Moses difficult. Moses' older brother and sister also resisted Moses whenever they had the opportunity. I cannot believe that someone has helped me a lot. Because I loved you, I sacrificed, I did this much... You have to let go of the thought that you will be good to me. All people change. There is no helper in difficult times (Psalm 146:3, Isaiah 30:7, Jer 17:5, Jer 47:4).
Psalm 146:3 - Do not trust in princes, nor in a life without help.
Isaiah 30:7 - Egypt's help is futile and useless; therefore I have called Egypt Rahab, which sits still.
Jeremiah 17:5 - Thus saith the LORD, Cursed is the man who believes in a man, and his body is his power, and his heart turns away from the LORD.
Jeremiah 47:4 - This is the name of the day when he will destroy the Philistines and cut off all the helpers that remain in Tire and Sidon.
our saints,
① You must bow down to God (Genesis 24:26, 48, 52).
Genesis 24:52 - When Abraham's servant heard them, he fell to the ground and worshiped the LORD.
② We must cry out to God (Exodus 3:9, 22:23, 1 Samuel 7:8, Psalm 88:1, 106:44).
Exodus 22:23 - If you do harm them, and they cry out to me, I will surely hear their cry.
1 Samuel 7:8 - Then he said to Saul, “Call to the LORD our God for us without ceasing, that he may deliver us from the hand of the Philistines.
③ We must receive help from God (Exodus 18:4, 2 Chronicles 14:11, Psalm 20:2, 27:9).
Exodus 18:4 And the name of one was Eliezer, that the God of my father, whom I knew, helped me and saved me from the sword.
2 Chronicles 14:11 - And they cried out to the LORD their God, saying, "O LORD, there is no one who can help between the strong and the wicked but you; help us, O LORD our God; we trust in you, and in your name we trust in your name. I have come to swarm O LORD, you are our God; let no man overcome you.
Psalm 20:2 - He helps you in the sanctuary and sustains you in Zion.
Psalm 27:9 - Do not hide your face from me; do not turn your servant away from anger; you have been my help. God of my salvation, do not forsake me or forsake me.
God protected Moses and Israel.
God saved Moses.
