Title: Prayer Ⅱ (Psalm 71:5-9)
Contents
Starting with Psalm 51, David's psalms are written continuously. There is no authorship in Psalm 66:67, and there is no mention of the author in Psalm 71. Most scholars believe that Psalm 71 was written by David.
The reason is that David's poems continue to come out, and the contents are very consistent with David's thoughts.
Psalm 71:1-3 “In You, O LORD, I take refuge; put me to shame forever; in Your righteousness deliver me and set me free; Incline Your ear to me and save me. I have commanded you to save, for you are my rock and my stronghold.” Psalm 31:1 3 “In You, O LORD, I take refuge; do not let me be put to shame forever; in Your righteousness deliver me. Be the guarantee of my salvation, for you are my rock and my stronghold; therefore guide and guide me for the sake of your name.” Psalm 31 is a psalm of David.
There are two types of prayer. There are “prayer” and “prayer that becomes,” “prayer that believes,” and “prayer that doubts.” There are “answered prayers” and “unanswered prayers.” Actually, the subject of "prayer" is not so important because I am. However, the subject of “becoming prayer” is very important because it is the Lord. "Prayer to pray" seems to be long, but it is short, "Prayer to become" seems to be a little long, and "Prayer to pray" is not touched or surprised. If you analyze the “prayer that becomes a prayer” given by the Lord, (1) you can know the will of the Lord. (2) We can know our future. (3) We know what we need. And if we analyze David's prayer,
1. The central idea in David's prayer is 'Do not forsake me when you are old'.
Psalm 71:9 “Do not forsake me when I am old, nor depart from me when I am weak.” Verse 18, “O God, when I am old and alone, do not forsake me. Don't forsake me until you tell me.' David prayed to secure his old age. No one in the Bible prays for old age like this. People know that life is always like today. But life depends on your age. Normally I don't think like this, but how did David know and pray, 'Do not forsake me when I am old'?
1 Chronicles 29:26:28 "David the son of Jesse became king over all Israel and reigned over Israel forty years. He reigned seven years in Hebron and thirty-three years in Jerusalem. But he died, and his son Solomon became king in his place.” In the Bible, 30,000 people lived and died, but it is not often expressed in this way when they grow old.
We do not have to go to know our future today, but by analyzing our prayers and our lives, we can predict our future to some extent. The gist of today's message is to correct the wrong parts and make up for the missing parts so that we can correct your future through life through prayer. Prayers of the future can make known our future, and prayers of the future can change our future.
Let's look at Solomon's prayer. 1 Kings 3:4 “Then the king went to Gibeon to sacrifice, because it was a high place, and Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on the altar. “And he did not seek to destroy the life of his enemies, but to hear accusations and sought wisdom in discernment.” Verse 13 “And I also give you riches and glory that you did not ask for, and there will be none like you among kings in your lifetime.” You ask, God will give you wealth and glory. There is wealth and glory, but there is no number. He enjoys wealth and glory, but he dies at the age of 60 because he cannot afford it. As Solomon's faith grew, he changed and the number decreased. I should have prayed for unchanging faith until the end.
Let's pray today, "Give us unchanging faith into our lives." Please pray for the future. “Lord, give me unchanging faith.” “Lord, do not forsake me in my old age, when I am old, when I am weak, or when I am weak.” What prayers do you guys keep coming up now? Please make sure you have prayer insurance.
2. David prays that the Lord is my only hope and my will since childhood.
Psalm 71:5 “O Lord GOD, you are my hope and trust from my youth.” What do you depend on for your life? David relied on the Lord alone. "My joy. Even if I sing and sing praises to the Lord who is my hope and my life day and night, my heart will always be filled with sorrow."
3. David acknowledges the Lord's election from his mother's womb and prays to live.
Psalm 71:6 “I was upheld by you from the womb, and you were taken from the womb of my mother; I will always praise you.” “I am God’s chosen people before the foundation of the world. Therefore, I will live only praising the Lord.”
4. David prayed to make the Lord his refuge.
Psalm 71:7 “I am a strange thing to the multitudes, but you are my strong refuge.” David said, “Lord, do not forsake me when people look at me strangely. You are my refuge.” May the Lord be your refuge. If I obey the guidance of God who knows all about the future and live my life, that path is the safest and surest way of blessing. From his mother's womb to his old age, David entrusted his whole life to God in prayer and lived a life of dependence. We use this as a lesson to analyze our thoughts, hearts, words, actions, and prayers, correct what needs to be corrected, and supplement what needs to be improved, and I bless you in the name of the Lord to achieve the victory that the Lord gives you.
