Title: Prayer for Leaders/Wednesday 14:10~15
Contents Prayer for leaders/Wednesday 14:10~15
Key Verse: “Give me this hill country that the LORD spoke of on that day, and you heard it on that day, but there are Anakites there, and their cities are great and fortified. come down” (verse 12).
Word: In any group where people gather, there is bound to be a leader who leads the organization. Even insects and animals have their own leaders. Organizations that do well and have a good reputation for everything they do can see that their leaders are demonstrating something extraordinary.
Joshua, who was established as Moses' successor at the time of the Exodus, was truly a great leader with God. He was a visionary leader. When he entered the land of Canaan as one of the twelve spies, the ten spies feared many people and complained against Moses and Aaron, but Joshua and Caleb said, “They are our bread. Their god has departed from them, and the Lord will surely give us the victory, so let us attack without fear.”
So God said that all those who were over 20 years old who complained about the Lord will die in the wilderness, and only Joshua and Caleb will enter Canaan. No matter how difficult the reality, we need a leader who shows the vision and shows the way.
He was also a leader who could firmly punish sin. When he and the Israelites defeated the city of Ai, they took Achan, his family, and everything that belonged to him, who had sinned against God and caused the defeat, to the Valley of Achor, and stoned them and burned them.
In this day and age, we need a leader who is so clean and who can resolutely reject the evil around him. The most surprising thing he showed as a leader is that he was a leader of service. After he destroyed the seven Canaanite tribes, he was able to claim as many lands as he could for himself and his descendants as the leader of the people of Israel. But Joshua divided the land equally among the twelve tribes of Israel, and he took the small land of Timnath-serah in the hill country of Ephraim, and built a city and lived there.
Indeed, in this age, we need a leader who builds up people like this, a leader who thinks from the perspective of those below him, and a leader who has leadership of service. Because of such a great leader, God allowed the amazing work of victory over Israel by changing even the operation of the sun and moon.
If you are a leader in any organization, pray that you will become a leader like Joshua. Also, always pray for the leaders in your area so that they will show a vision and show leadership of service while shunning sin. God is telling us that today.
Prayer: God, lead many of the leaders of this earth to become leaders who truly show a vision in God, resolutely reject sin and build up people. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
