Title: Prayer for Revival
A revival cannot be brought about by clear advertising, great praise, large offerings, great sermons, and large crowds.
There must be a prayer for revival to come down from heaven, not from the earth ascending.
1. The Lord's Example of Prayer
The Lord prayed from the cradle to the grave.
40-day fasting prayer in the wilderness (to serve and to overcome suffering), all-night prayer, morning prayer, prayer at the tomb of Lazarus, prayer in Gethsemane, prayer on the cross Lord, for they do not know what they are doing).
Even the perfect Jesus needed prayer, so how desperately do sinners like us need prayer?
2. Prayer is a prerequisite for revival.
After the ascension of Jesus, the disciples prayed earnestly. When we prayed fervently for ten days, the power came upon us, and 3,000 people were saved in one day.
For the revival on the day of Pentecost, prayer was a pre-requisite.
In 1857, the great American revival movement began with the prayer of one man. This New York-based man spent half of his daily lunch break praying for revival across the country.
Before the revival meeting of a certain church started, a female teacher told a revival instructor, "I prayed for revival every morning for several months, and it seemed like God was whispering that he would give me a powerful revival."
This revival was a wonderful revival and many people turned to Christ.
We hear the prophecy that "there is no revival like in the past". However, the Bible says, "What we do not have, we do not ask for."
It is only natural that God brings revival when we pray day and night.
It happened at a revival meeting in a small church.
On the first day, a few people received the Lord, invited a lecturer to their house, and prayed for one specific person. I prayed for a young man who was drowning in sin. Before this meeting was over, I prayed to the Lord to come back and be saved. This young man returned one day before the last day of the meeting, and on the last day, he attended the meeting and repented. This young man was in a distant place, but he was led back home by an invisible force. That power was the power of the prayers of the saints.
3. What to pray for revival?
1) We must pray for ourselves.
2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, who are called by my name, humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sins and heal their land."
The first thing we need is to have a right relationship with God every day.
We will never be able to impress others unless we live a clean, dedicated Christian life.
David said, "If I cherish sin in my heart, the Lord will not hear me."
We must confess the resentment, envy, jealousy, and various sins in our hearts and purify our lives.
The doctor in the operating room washes his hands, puts on a mask and a mask, puts on rubber gloves and goes to the operating table. If you come into contact with other people before surgery, wash your hands again, wear a new mask, a mask, and other gloves before starting surgery.
We are dealing with something infinitely more noble than the human body. Because we are dealing with an immortal soul, we need to cleanse ourselves of the sinful things in our lives.
If we expect revival, we must first pray for ourselves.
2) We must pray for the power of the Holy Spirit.
Zechariah 4:6 "Not by force, not by power, but by my spirit."
We must receive this power. We must pray for this power to come to the pastors, the hymns, and the saints, and that the unsaved sinners will repent.
Luke 11:13 "If you, though evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?"
3) We must pray for unsaved souls.
There are people in your family, friends, and neighbors who are not saved. We must pray for them.
Let's remember Hymn 333, "Daily the Lord and the Birch."
Thousands of people turn to the Lord through your prayers.
Psalm 126:5,6 "He that sows with tears will reap with joy; he who goes out weeping to sow seed will surely return with joy, carrying the sheaf.
Isaiah 66:8 says, ?쏝ut Zion gave birth to her children as soon as she was grieving.??We must pray for the unsaved until he accepts Jesus as our Savior. The response can take as short as a few minutes or as long as several years.
Introduction to Kim Jeong-hwan's letter, Lee Dong-seong's Reception of Jesus
Matthew 18:19 ?쏛gain, truly, I say to you, if two of you agree on earth to ask for anything, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.??God willingly grants revival to a church that pays the price of prayer and devotion.
I hope that we will become believers who remember that prayer is the greatest, most important, and most necessary thing for revival.
