Title: Prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane

Contents, dear saints! Let's read Matthew 26:36-56. Going a little farther, he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me. But not as I will, but as you will.” Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane was the ultimate in loneliness and suffering. show the situation. However, he triumphs through prayer and faces all hardships calmly.

First, the prayer of Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36-46).

When Jesus came to the Garden of Gethsemane, he wanted to keep the 8 disciples far away and only bring Peter, John, and James closer to them, so that they could stay awake and pray together. Because they expected that they could pray together. But they quickly fell asleep. I wanted to pray with Jesus in my heart, but my body was weak. My eyes were especially tired and I couldn't stand it. No matter how tired I was, Jesus was so troubled that I was about to die. Even though you know the need for prayer, do you not avoid it by making excuses for your weakness or fatigue? Jesus prayed three times earnestly to ask Heavenly Father to let this cup pass if he could alone. Jesus prophesied of his death and resurrection several times to his disciples. At the Last Supper a little while ago, he also said that he must return as a ransom for many. Why did Jesus, knowing that he was the sacrifice, prayed like this? Did you suddenly become afraid of the cross? It was because of the burden of sin that Jesus suffered so much that he died.

Second, arrest (Matt. 26:47-56).

Even in the midst of infinite suffering, he prayed not to do my will, but to do his will. After praying that he would do his will, he decided to bear the burden of his sins and calmly welcomed Judas Iscariot and his companions. He overcame infinite suffering through prayer. He stops attempts to defend Jesus and is arrested to fulfill the Bible. Can you also go to Worms, where Luther would sentence him to death, if it were God's will?

Dear saint! Pray as earnestly as Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane when a heavy burden weighs on you. Then you will be victorious like Jesus. -Amen-

Yehwa / What is your wish?
