Title: Prayer is entrusting my existence to God

Prayer is entrusting my existence to God.

Text/ Proverbs 16:3, Psalm 37:5-6, Psalm 55:22, 1 Peter 5:7

1. Introduction

There is no furniture and no air conditioning/heating facilities in the 2nd floor attic temple in Jeongbae-ri, where I live. However, it was empty with nothing other than the cross on the front - the old hwamunseok mat with cracked corners on the floor. High snow-capped mountains and fields can be seen outside the window, magpies, crows, and mountain birds sometimes chirp, and the cold, clear wind comes and goes through the window that remains open despite the severe cold that continues for more than a month like these days.

I really like the two-story attic temple. It's really good. I suddenly thank God for giving me such a wonderful space! I go up to the Darakbang temple in the morning and evening and sit on a prayer cushion and offer prayers, prayers, meditation, and contemplative prayers.

2. Prayer is surrendering my existence entirely to Heavenly Father.

I usually prayed without much thought. However, in the process of meditating and preparing for the last 5 weeks, I became particularly interested in prayer. So, unlike before, when I prayed, I personally practiced the three forms of prayer. I tried praying prayer-meditation prayer-contemplative prayer in order, and I also tried prayer that mixed wish prayer-meditation prayer-contemplative prayer by leaving it to my flow of consciousness. It was a kind of prayer experiment.

As a result, what I learned (1) was that the vague concepts I had about prayer - a vague understanding that I thought were roughly - were all fictional ideas I knew through the book. (2) The images of the three forms of prayer (wish prayer-meditation prayer-contemplative prayer) are clearly imprinted in me. (3) Whether it is wishing prayer - contemplative prayer - contemplative prayer, "Prayer is about entrusting my existence - my whole being - all my problems - my life itself - completely entrusting my breath to the living Heavenly Father!" It was a realization.

* Commit your deeds to the LORD, and your plans will come to pass (Proverbs 16:3).

* Commit your way to the Lord, trust in him, and he will do this, and he will make your righteousness shine like the light of the noonday (Psalm 37:5-6).

* Cast your burden on the Lord, who upholds you and does not allow the righteous to be moved forever (Psalm 55:22) The Lord God who carries our burdens daily (Psalm 68:19)

* Therefore humble yourself under the mighty hand of God, for in due time he will exalt you. Cast all your anxieties on the Lord, for he counsels you (1 Peter 5:7).

3. What are the benefits of prayer (wish prayer-meditation prayer-contemplative prayer)?

first. You can hear God's voice by praying. The psalmist said, “O Lord, hearer of prayer!” Said. Our God is “O! you who hear prayer, to you all men will come” (Psalm 65:2). It is

Do you have any problems in your life (economy - human relations - health - employment - future career path, etc.)? Make a wish prayer. Do you have a frustrating spiritual problem that cannot be solved internally? Offer a prayer of contemplation. Do you want to hear the still small voice of God? Offer contemplative prayers.

Thoughts that come to mind at first glance - Worry - Anxiety - Misconceptions - Obsessive thoughts - It would be nice to be like this - I don't know how I feel! A stream of clutter - clutter - useless miscellaneous thoughts - a stream of consciousness is not a prayer. Prayer is “to tell the living God of my existence and to hear it!” It is only when we pray that “The principle of the divine self-revelation” begins to work.

second. You can wake up by praying. *Keep on the watch, what I say to you, I say to everyone “Watch!” Mark 13:37 , being watchful and thankful (Colossians 4:2). To pray means to be awake (Prayer is Mindfulness). What does awake mean?

(1) I am usually transparently conscious of all the senses of my body (seeing, hearing, speaking, tasting, feeling, and thinking).

(2) I do not lose the fundamental direction of my life (love of God + love of neighbor).

(3) What I have to do today-now-here becomes clear.

third. Prayer is the foundation of our inner being (2 Corinthians 4:16, Ephesians 3:16). freedom in truth, etc.).

Oriental speaking,

君子 和而不同周而不比 Small People 同而不和比而不周

(The gentleman is at peace with others, but does not lose his independence - he is universal and does not compare himself with others. The younger man only promotes his own identity and is not at peace with others - he does not work well because he compares himself with others).

是是non-do不問

山山山川任自閑 (Sansan, Cheoncheonimjahan: Mountains are like mountains, and waters are like waters.)

莫問西天安養國

白雲斷處有靑山 (Baegundancheoyucheongsan: Where the white clouds end, there is a blue mountain)
