Sermons for Preaching

Title: Prayer is power! (Daniel 6:10-15)

Glenn Hinson, the leader of spiritual theology, said that the greatest weakness of modern people is 'the inability to hear God's voice', citing two reasons for this. First, because of our very busy daily life. Second, because life is too distracting. Therefore, people who say they believe in God, do not have interest in God, do not meet God, and cannot hear His voice are just people who go to church and do not truly believe in God. Therefore, the true believer is the one who prays. Daniel was a man of prayer. What was the character of his prayer?

1. It is a prayer of faith in God.

Looking at today's text, Daniel was in a situation where he could not pray. The enemy's scheme was to make and promulgate a decree to pray and worship only the king, and to put Daniel in there. However, even though Daniel knew that such an evil decree had been promulgated, he still got down on his knees and prayed to God. The reason was because he believed in the power of the living God. Because Daniel believed in the power of the living God, no matter how conspiring to kill him, Daniel was able to pray without being shaken.

2. He is a person of habitual prayer.

“Even though Daniel knew that this decree had been signed, he went back to his house and looked at the open window of his room toward Jerusalem and prayed three times a day, as he had done before, on his knees, giving thanks to God ” (6:10). Because it is a holy spiritual fellowship with God, if a person who has become accustomed to it on a daily basis comes to God with any problem, God will solve it and respond to him without difficulty.

3. I prayed for purpose.

In Daniel chapter 1 of the Bible, Daniel prayed for 10 days in order not to eat the king's delicacies, and in chapter 10 he saw a vision that a great war would break out and he prayed for three weeks, that is, 21 days. He prayed a determined prayer to protect his faith and to prevent a tragedy for the nation, and so he received an answer. We must evangelize this Christmas New Life Festival, so please pray first. Without prayer, new life cannot be born.
