Prayer must be restored

(Luke 18:1-8)

In verse 8 of today's text, it is said that when the Son of Man comes, the Lord was talking about what we should pray to our members with the Second Coming in mind. It is saying that prayer is more important than anything else. The English Reformer John Knox said, "One who prays is stronger than all the peoples who do not pray." Regarding the absolute necessity of prayer, EM Bounds, who has written many books on prayer, said, "God leads the world through prayer. The more prayer the world is, the better the world will be, and the more prayer, the greater the power to overcome Satan. Combining these words, the important thing about prayer is that there is power in prayer. Our Lord also emphasized prayer to his disciples and showed an example of prayer. He prayed according to his habit from time to time, and even while talking about the end times, he is saying that the first thing to do is pray.

So, what do you mean by praying?

The meaning of this word to pray always in verse 1 is not to say that we should give up all our daily lives and come to church to pray, but rather to pray in our lives. Prayer in life is always praying. It is trusting and praying to God even for a brief moment. And the thing to be careful about when praying to the Lord is not to become discouraged. Disappointment is the greatest enemy of prayer, and at the same time, the thing that destroys people the most is discouragement and discouragement. A member of the church who had been praying hard suddenly stopped praying and did not worship well, so if you look at the reason, it is nothing different. For some reason, he accepted the disappointment in his heart. That is why our Lord says in verse 1 of the text, “You must pray and not lose heart.”

Then why do the saints get discouraged while praying?

1. It is because they think that even if they pray, the situation will become more difficult.

Even if the situation is bad while praying, if you hold on to the Word of God and pray until the end, God will answer you.

2. Because of the disappointment of those who pray.

It is because I pray a lot when I see people praying, but I am discouraged by judging why it will not be solved and I do not pray.

3. It is because we are discouraged because there are no answers to our prayers.

Because prayer works in God's time, we must believe that a good God works the best.

4. Because there is no burning desire for prayer answers.

Whatever it is, the goal should be clear. Even in prayer, there must be a clear desire for answers and a clear goal. Those who have clear goals and wishes for prayer have earnestness and passion.

In verse 7 of the text, it says that if you pray with a bitter heart like this, God will release your resentment. According to the Bible, all those who prayed desperately like this received answers. The Lord, Jacob, and Elijah also received answers to prayers. If you pray to God, God will surely answer you. Our God wants our saints to pray / Matthew 7:7-11. When you pray, He always gives you abundantly. The problem is that we have a problem. The question in verse 8 whether we will see faith is that there is no one who prays earnestly and earnestly with faith like this. Prayer must be restored. Only then can our lives be connected with God and the Christian life can live a victorious life while we live on this earth.
