Title: Prayer of Jesus

The Intercession of Jesus Christ

Bible: John 17:17-19

When Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings and God appeared to him in a dream and told him to ask for a wish, “What can I give you?” Solomon said, “To love God’s people and to obtain the wisdom of judgment to rule the kingdom well, listen to God. I saved my heart (Shema Rev)”.

However, what he asked for was actually his parents, David and Bathsheba, who always prayed for Solomon, whether he knew it or not, whether he heard it or not (Psalm 73:1-19).

Solomon had what his parents always prayed for for him was engraved in his head and heart, and he immediately asked for it when he met God in a dream.

The three important things that Jesus always interceded for His disciples were recorded in John 17. In the end, the disciples competed with each other with jealousy, denied their master during hardship and ran away, but in the end they became great apostles who started the early church according to Jesus' prayer and spread the gospel to the whole world.

1. “Holy Father, preserve them in your name, which you have given me, so that they may become one as we are” (verse 11, the unity of the disciples in faith, hope and love):

The destruction of all communities in history seems to have been destroyed by changes in the external environment or invasion of external enemies, but in fact, they were destroyed by themselves due to internal conflict. When the history of love in the community cools and the virtue of tolerance disappears, it is divided and self-destructed.

Jesus prayed earnestly for the 12 disciples to become one (verses 21-23, “Father in me and I in you, so they may all be one in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them so that they may learn to be one, even as we are one. That I, you in them, and the Father in me, might make them one, and that you sent me and I so that the world may know that you have loved them as you love them”).

Peter and John joined hands and went to the temple to pray and performed a miracle of healing the lame man.

We must pray for a family united by faith, hope, and love, a church united with the same heart as a family, a nation and nation united with the vision of the priestly nation and God's people.

2. “I do not pray that you should take them into the world, but that you keep them from falling into evil” (v. 15, lead not into temptation and not into evil):

In a democratic country, when appointing major national leaders, the qualifications of the leaders are verified through the election process, and the appointed leaders are verified through hearings of elected leaders (members of the National Assembly). Faults that are deceived by corruption and fall into temptation are decisive.

No matter how many achievements you make, one or two mistakes in a moment can destroy all your honor and achievements.

The Lord's Prayer says, "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil."

King Solomon's final prayer topic was, "I have asked thee for two things, before I die, give them to me. Take away from me falsehood and lies; neither give me poverty nor riches, but feed me with the bread I need. I do not know God, lest I be the LORD, or I am poor and steal, and profane the name of my God” (Proverbs 30:7-9).

The Apostle Paul and the Thessalonian church members also interceded for protection and salvation from mutual evil. The Apostle Paul prayed to continue to pursue holiness through patience and faith in the work of love, hope, and prayed for the saints to preach and teach the word of God well.

3. “Sanctify them by the truth, for your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I sent them into the world, and for their sake I sanctify myself, that they too may be sanctified by the truth. ” (verses 17-19, living holy in the world with truth):

You cannot run away from the earth to live because the world is dirty and rebellious, and you cannot throw it away. However, you cannot easily compromise with the world.

Christians are those who have been saved from the sins they have committed while living in the world, but have been sent back into the world. Now, in the world, we must live according to the word of God. The standard and goal of the saints is the word of truth of God.

Adolescents and young adults these days use too much swearing. Christians should not swear. Jesus said, “Do not curse.” He who curses his brother is a murderer (Matthew 5:22 “I tell you, everyone who is angry with his brother will be judged; whoever calls raga against his brother will be held in council, and anyone who calls a fool will be in hellfire. will enter into the ”).

All our children have hope is not because they are smarter than children and study well, but because they live in a world of swearing and do not swear by their good character.

The value that saints pursue is not success, but sanctification.
