Title: Prayer Only (Philippians 4:6-7)
Contents
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Then the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).
The living and dying churches were described as follows:
A living church always has a problem of space in classrooms and parking lots.
A dying church doesn't care about space.
A living church is always changing. A dying church is always the same.
The living church is always noisy with the babbling of children and boys and girls.
A dying church is as silent as dead.
A living church always lacks workers. A dying church does not need to find workers.
A living church always spends over budget. A dying church has a lot of balance in the bank.
The living church is having a hard time knowing the name of the new face.
In a dying church, year after year, that person is that person.
A living church is active in missionary work.
A dying church only moves within the church.
The living church is full of givers,
The dying church is full of tippers.
The living church runs on faith,
The dying church operates on human sight.
A living church is busy learning and serving,
A dying church is at ease.
The living church actively evangelizes,
A dying church gradually hardens and fossilizes.
A living church has many people praying to God,
A dying church is a church with a lot of people talking to people.
“Prayer is a challenge to human autonomy and an indictment to independent living,” he said.
For busy people who are resolutely going their own way, prayer can be a very absurd obstacle. Prayer is very foreign to our proud human nature.
Today's text is a verse that I and you both memorize and love very much.
The closest union with God can only be achieved through prayer.
This is an important reason we pray. Please remember that Paul is now writing this epistle while in prison in Rome. But when you read his letter, you can't really feel the thought that he is suffering in prison. Rather, he feels wrapped up in a glorious God.
Even if you and I are in a prison-like situation, if you pray, you will be enveloped in the God of glory. Therefore, Paul said, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known.
Amazing things will happen if you and I go to the Lord only in prayer
1. You will experience a heaven full of joy. verse 4
Rejoice in the Lord always, I say again, rejoice.
I believe that only those who pray will enjoy the heaven that is always happy.
In 1 Thessalonians 5:16, the apostle Paul exhorted us to rejoice always and then to pray without ceasing. Only those who pray without ceasing are the people closest to the Lord. Such a person is always bound to rejoice. Why? Because joy is full before the Lord, and eternal joy is at the right hand of the Lord. (Psalm 16:11) You will show me the way of life; your presence is full of joy, and at your right hand are joys everlasting.
2. You will enjoy a heaven full of love. verse 5
Those who pray are in the Lord and will be poured out abundantly with His love.
Such a person will love and be tolerant. Love and tolerance are the attitudes of wise saints preparing for the Lord's return.
(Philippians 4:5) Let your generosity be known to all, for the Lord is near.
(1 Peter 4:7-8) “The end of all things is near; therefore, be sober and sober, and pray.
Above all, love one another zealously, for love covers a multitude of sins.”
What is the ethics of the saints in the last days? Love and service. So, in order to accomplish this, Peter advised us to be sober and sober and pray.
3. You will enjoy a heaven filled with peace. Verses 6-7
Paul told the Philippians not to be anxious about anything. Verse 6 says, “By prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known. What kind of work happens to those who pray? Verse 7 says that the peace of God guards the hearts and minds of those who pray in Christ Jesus.
Let's get ready. ‘Special morning prayer meeting for the blessing of Mount Horeb for 40 days.’ Let’s go together. To the land of miracles, Mount Horeb! To the land of blessing, Mount Horeb!! To Mount Horeb, the holy land of God's presence!!!
(Colossians 4:2) Be steadfast in prayer and keep watch with thanksgiving in prayer.
(Colossians 4:3) Pray also for us, that God may open the door for us to preach, that we may tell the mystery of Christ; for this I am bound.
