Title: Prayer with permission (1 Chronicles 4:9-10)

Permitted prayer / 1 Chronicles 4:9-10
This is a story from Africa.
It was August, and the very hot weather continued, and my mother, a missionary, became seriously ill. The doctor speaks to the young daughter. "Your mother has a fever and is like a fireball. You need ice to save her..."
This was Africa, where the sun was wild all year round. Unfortunately, it was a place where the ice couldn't even be seen.
The little girl said to the doctor.
It is saying that the mother must not die, and that we must somehow obtain the ice.
Little daughter wishes. God has promised to give us everything we need, so I am praying to God for ice.
The little daughter began to pray. Without knowing how to rest, I kept praying. However, late that afternoon, dark clouds began to appear, and soon after rain, thick hail began to pour. This hail was ice from the sky.
God heard the girl's prayer and her mother's life was saved.
I quoted the example from the sermon site because it touched my heart. Believe it or not, I will leave it to you.
But please believe that the miracles of God belong to those who trust God without lies and pray to the end.
Today's subject is a Korean character. However, nowhere else in the Bible an introduction to the character is recorded. However, the important point in the record about him is that God allowed his prayer. This is the title of today's sermon and the task we need to learn.
Although it is a short verse, it will suffice for us to glimpse his great faith in his supplication to be permitted to pray.
“Prayer with permission” is probably the desire of those who pray. Although it is short, I hope that it will be a time to properly establish our prayers in the midst of taking a closer look at Jabez in the text.
first. He is a witness to the robbery.
Let's read verse 9.
Jabez is a name derived from the word 'Achav' which means 'Son of Pain'.
I do not know for what reason, but from the contents of the second half of verse 9, it seems that Jabez was not born with blessings from his birth. But the victor in verse 9 was Jabez. “Jabez is more noble than his brothers.” I don't know why, but he overcame the disadvantages of being born and became more noble than his brothers.
However, looking at his deeds in verse 10, it can be said that it was the victory of faith through his faith that enabled him to overcome all these evil conditions.
Today's words testify that Jabez was the son of suffering, but he achieved victory as a man more noble than his brother. This is to prove in a piecemeal way that he was more faithful than his brother in faith.
second. certainty of faith
As we go through life, there are things that require us to make decisions about many things. In some cases, a decision that is too hasty can cause harm. Another is hesitating and missing an opportunity. These are the consequences of hesitating, of making decisions too quickly, or acting without certainty.
Matthew 21:21,22 The name of the saints means those who have received the grace of Christ in the Lord. This means that you are a child of God. Since the saints are children of God, if you ask with confidence in the covenant given by the Lord, God will hear you.
In Hebrews 11:29, the writer said that in the history of the Exodus, Israel with faith crossed the Red Sea like land. But the Egyptians tried this, and the results were buried.
The writer of Hebrews records many works of faith in chapter 11. Verse 30 tells us that the capture of Jericho was a victory of faith in seven days. Verse 33 says, “By faith they conquered nations, worked righteousness, received promises, and shut the mouths of lions.” Please read it after the service is over.
Jabez believed in God. Even in adverse conditions, he was not sad or frustrated. I didn't resent anyone.
This is the first part of verse 10. ‘Jabez… cried out to God,’ he said. Here, the Hebrew word ‘kara’, which corresponds to ‘call’, means ‘to cry out. This means that Jabez went to God with a desperate heart and prayed for His grace earnestly. His confident supplication was a cry out of the belief that the God of Israel is my God, the God of the covenant is my God. This is the act of truly acknowledging God.
“The God of the Covenant” is the God of Israel and the God of Jacob, the name given to him by his wrestling in the Jabbok River. The God of Blessing was a confession full of confidence that he was my God, and Jabez made a plea for it.
The God who made a covenant with Jacob and blessed Jacob, both Jabez and I, we cry out with the assurance that God will give you with faith in God.
He was convinced of the faithfulness of the covenant. Such conviction is attested by his specific prayers.
“I pray that you will bless me even more, so that I may expand my borders, and help me with your hand, that I may be free from trouble and be free from trouble,” he said to God. We pray for blessings to be multiplied and blessed to broaden our horizons. And 'Let there be no worries' - 'Pain' here means 'my pain', which is similar to the meaning of his name. However, from the verse, we can see that Jabez appealed to God to solve his mental and physical pain. In other words, it is his certain faith that seeks the direct favor of the Father by the hand of God.
What do you think of the saints of Yale Seongsan who are here today?
The problem is that I create it and try to solve it, which makes it even more problematic. Leave everything in the Lord's hands, and offer your supplications with only sincere faith. This is a valuable solution that God has given us.
Finally, the result.
I will read verse 10. ‘God allowed what he asked for’ Jabez had faith and God gave him everything he asked for today. We need to keep in mind once again that the prayer we ask for with sincerity and earnestness is the prayer of an exemplary believer who is answered, and we have to obey the Word.
Jesus tells us ‘Let it be according to your faith’
You should not blame the world for blaming your environment. Please do not use it as a comfort in your life. As much as you can, please kneel before the Lord once more and put your hands together. Confident prayer has the power to change a person's environment. Because God is our Father.
You must hold on to the Word and pray. Jabez was convinced that the God of Israel was his God and cried out. The God of Israel is the God of the covenant. If we pray with confidence in that covenant, God will allow our prayers.
Now clean up. I hope you cry out earnestly with the confidence of the covenant in your faith.
You overcome. Win. God responds with permission in all things.
Faith is victory!
