Title: Prayers come true!”, is that true?

“Prayer comes true!”, is that true?

Text/ Mark 14:36

1. Introduction

This morning, let's all meditate deeply on the meaning of hymn 620 (especially the lyrics of verse 2) and sing praises. I am so very grateful that this gospel song has been incorporated into the hymn.

* We, the favored ones of our Lord, gathered here, I believe that you are with us in this place.

I will always praise and follow you alone, believing that you are with me even in times of temptation.

*Even if it is difficult to fathom the will of the Lord, I know that I am always in the will of the Lord.

Love and words make me newer, even if I fall sometimes, I believe in the ultimate victory.

* We, the beloved children of the Lord, gathered here, unfold through us as the Lord intended.

As I depend on the Lord more in pain and sorrow, overcome difficulties and praise the Lord more

(chorus) Be stronger in this faith, the Lord will protect you

The bright light of the Lord guides you even in the dark night

2. “Prayer comes true” Is that true?

We often hear the saying, “If you pray, God will make it happen.” And books such as “Answers to 50,000 prayers (George Muller)-Everything was done by God (Kyung-Ju Jeong)-The power of prayer (Lee Am Bounds)-The power of presence prayer (see YES24)”, Blessing Sunghee-Prayer Meeting-Popular testimonies Listening to the lecturers say, “I prayed like this and this earnestly, and God answered me like this!” is full of the contents of the expression.

But these days, while meditating on a sermon on prayer, “Aha!” A small realization came. (1) I didn't notice God's answers to my prayers either immediately or slowly, as sensitively as they did! - Looking back, I realized that most of my prayers were answered. (2) You believe in the vague myth of “Prayer will make it happen!” and mistakenly believe that it is not prayer! realization. (3) The fact that I interpreted the words “Lord who hears prayers” as “Lord who answers prayers” at my own discretion. In other words, it is the realization that “God is sovereign whether or not you answer prayers.”

3. So, what is proper prayer?

first. Before we pray before deciding on a prayer topic Is my prayer the right one? You have to do your own 回光返照 (Hye-gwang-banjo - Look inside yourself brightly). Why?

* Where do strife among you come from? Is it not from the lust that fights among your members? You lust, and you have not, and you murder; you envy, and you cannot get, so you fight and fight. What you do not have is because you do not ask. The reason you ask and do not receive is because you ask wrongly to spend it on your lusts (James 4:1-3).

In the church, “If you pray, it will come true!” The reason why the word “射倖心” became a slogan that evoked 射倖心 and became a myth is because a word in front of it was omitted. It means “according to God’s creation order”. If you pray, it will come true! It sounds right when you hear it. But it is 似而non (pseudo-real thing). The truth is, “If you pray according to God’s creation order, it will come true!

third. Proper prayer is “just pray!” is. Regardless of the existence or non-existence of answers to prayer - the success or failure of prayer answers - it is to accept the result with gratitude unconditionally and without two words. “Just praying!”

* Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king, saying, Even if God does not rescue us, we will not bow down to your gods (Daniel 3:18).

* Abba, Father, all things are possible with you; remove this cup from me. But not as I will, but as you will (Mark 14:36).

Though there are no fig trees, vines, and olive trees, though the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation (Hab 3: 16-19)

* He gave me a thorn in my flesh, an angel of Satan, so that I would not be overconfident (2 Corinthians 12:7).
