Title: Praying and Waiting

praying and waiting
To live a successful life, you must have a dream and a vision. Why do people lose their dreams even when they dream? The biggest cause of disappointment is ‘self’. Disappointment arises when you give up hope and choose disappointment. On the other hand, if you choose hope in any circumstances, no one can take it away from you. When a dream dies, the soul gradually dies, but when the dream is restored, the soul gradually comes back to life.
1. We must be sure that prayers are answered (verse 41)
(1) Elijah brought the news of rain to King Ahab of Israel.
(2) What was the basis of Elijah's conviction? (1 Kings 18:1)
2. Focus on prayer (verse 42).
(1) Pray and pray until answers are given. In order to have the eagerness to respond.
Bartimaeus the blind seeks Jesus earnestly (Mark 10:46-52). The Syrophonic woman clings to Jesus to heal her daughter (Matthew 15ː24-28).
(2) We must pray repeatedly until our prayers are answered (Matthew 7:7-11). The story of the unjust judge (Luke 18:1-8).
3. We must expect and wait for answers to prayers (verse 43).
(1) Elijah prayed and expected God's answer. In verse 44, Elijah's expectation is also revealed. “It rained heavily” (verse 45).
(2) Be patient and expect (verses 43-44). Elijah knew how to wait here because he had already been trained to wait by the brook Cherith and at the house of the widow of Zarephath.
4. God gives power to those who pray (v. 46).
(1) The power of the Lord came upon Elijah, and he girded himself and ran before Ahab as far as the entrance to Jezreel.
(2) The power is the power of prayer. The ability to pray but to pray persistently is power. It is the power to pray, expect, and pray until an answer is received. Then, no matter how great the power of the world, the king can get ahead of anything.
Who makes dreams and visions come true? A person who prays. He is a person who prays and expects and waits for answers.
