Preach the Gospel (Romans 1:16)
We are going through the season of Lent when we meditate on the sufferings of Jesus.
The most important thing in Christianity is the cross of Jesus.
Jesus died on the cross to save us, and through that cross we are saved.
If the gospel of Christianity were to be described in one word, it would be 'Cross and Salvation'. The core of our Christianity is that no matter who and what kind of sin he has committed, if he believes in the love of God shown on the cross and repents of his sins, he will not perish and be saved.
The Apostle Paul decided to only know the gospel of Jesus Christ who was crucified, and he decided to preach and boast only the gospel of Jesus Christ who was crucified. I told him that there was no other gospel. -William Barclay-"The privilege of the gospel is given on the premise of sharing."
-Harnak-"It must be remembered that the most important office of the church is to preach the gospel."
What are the correct attitudes and correct understanding of the gospel of those who want to preach the gospel?
“I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16).
1. We must not be ashamed of the gospel.
What is the correct attitude of the evangelist toward the gospel? “I am not ashamed of the gospel”
(Deuteronomy 21:23) Do not leave the body on a tree all night, but bury it on the same day, and do not defile the land the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance; for he who hangs on a tree is cursed by God.
(Galatians 3:13) Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree.
But after meeting the Lord, Paul was not ashamed of the cross, but rather boasted only of the cross of the Lord.
-Lloyd-Jones- "The glory of the gospel is that the world finds attraction in the church, even though it is totally different from the world."
What is your attitude toward the gospel?
Why don't you go out today and boast about the cross and preach it?
2. You must know the purpose of the gospel.
What is the purpose of the gospel? “The gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes,” he said. The purpose of the gospel is to save those who believe. The gospel leads from faith to faith.
The gospel reveals the righteousness of God. The gospel saves us. It is said, “The righteous will live by faith.” Verse 17. Likewise, there is power in the gospel.
-Shun-"The church must have won. Not because of the Christians, but because of the power of the gospel.
Despite their weaknesses, they prevailed because of the power of the gospel."
3. You must know the scope of the gospel.
To what extent will the power of this gospel be applied? salvation to all who believe. Whether Jews or Greeks, anyone who believes in the gospel will be saved.
A saint is a person who knows the way to salvation. If you and I have been saved, we have a responsibility to share with all those who do not know the way of salvation. The reason we need to preach the gospel to everyone is that, first, no one will be saved without the cross of Jesus. Second, all people are sinners who need to be saved and because they are sinners who need the Savior Jesus. If salvation knows the way and is silent, it is a terrible evil.
The gospel must be preached throughout the world.
The Lord said.
(Matthew 24:14) This gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
(Matthew 28:19) Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
(Mark 13:10) And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations.
(Mark 16:15) And he said, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
(Luke 24:47) And it is written that repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations
(Rev 14:6) And I saw another angel flying in midair, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth, to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people
Every person, without exception, needs the gospel.
Of course, there are many responses when preaching the gospel.
1) Indicates a negative reaction.
(1 Corinthians 9:12) If others also have this authority over you, how much more is it us? But we do not use this book, but endure in all things, so that there may be no hindrance to the gospel of Christ.
(2 Corinthians 4:3-4) If our gospel is hidden, it is hidden from those who are perishing. Among them, the god of this world blinds the minds of those who do not believe, so that the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ cannot shine on them, for Christ is the image of God.
2) Show a positive reaction.
Faith is strengthened. (Romans 16:25) We save those who believe. Faith leads to faith. You will be saved. Illuminated with the brilliance of glory. Paul knew the gospel witness as his mission.
During the Daegu subway fire disaster, the subway doors are closed and smoke and poisonous sesame seeds spurt out.
Who needs to get out of the subway with the subway door open? Everyone has to come out. In this way, everyone in the world is a sinner. These are the people who need to be saved.
Oskar Schindler is said to have rescued many Jews from the Nazi slaughter and from the dead. "If I had put a little more effort, I could have saved more people..."
Do you have a list that you should work hard to survive? In order not to forget the person who lent me the money, I wrote it thickly and thickly in the ledger. Is there a list of souls who need to be saved from hell?
Is there a list of fathers, mothers, older sisters, nephews, friends, work seniors, juniors, etc. that need to be saved?
If we put in a little more effort, wouldn't more people be saved?
If we do not evangelize, it is a kind of neglect of our duties. The opportunity for evangelism is now.
(2 Corinthians 6:2) He said, "I heard you in my favor, and I helped you in the day of salvation." Behold, now is the acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
conclusion
Finally, ask a question. Who should preach this gospel? I !
Those who know the way of salvation must preach the gospel.
Ladies and gentlemen, why don't you feel sorry for the people who are burning to death while you feel sorry for them as you watch their souls go into the fires of Hell? How long are you going to just watch? We must go and preach the original gospel to everyone.
-Harnak-"Christianity as a religion will now come to an end, if the gospel turns into a social manifesto for the sake of the people's popularity," exclaimed.
- Irwin Luzer- "If you cook the gospel in an appropriate and interesting way to suit the popularity of the public and appeal to the world, the gospel loses its taste." We must preach the gospel as it is.
We must create rumors of Jesus just as rumors of riots fill the world. I pray in the name of the Lord that all of you will be used as precious tools for the expansion of God's kingdom.
