Title: Preaching and Nurture (Mark 01:14-20)
Contents Through the ministry of Jesus' baptism and overcoming Satan's temptations in the wilderness, we looked at Jesus' obedience.
Jesus' ministry is now beginning in earnest.
What were the two things Jesus did in the early days of His ministry?
1. Evangelism of & After John was arrested, Jesus came to Galilee and preached the gospel of God.
John the Baptist, who was preaching the gospel in the wilderness and preparing the way for the Lord, was arrested by Herod and the gospel was not preached, and Jesus preached the gospel.
Evangelism was the first ministry of Jesus.
And the command of evangelism is also the last will of &.
Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Contents of the Gospel - What is the content of the Gospel preached by &? The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the gospel. ① The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand.
the time has come It is not a specific time that can be predicted, but that the internal and external circumstances are ripe for God to fulfill His plan.
Right now, in the history of mankind, the presence of the kingdom of God is near, and the reign of God is at hand.
In particular, Israel longed for God's rule. Jesus is saying that the time has come for the very thing that Israel desperately hoped for and hoped for.
Also, as the kingdom of God has come near to Israel, it is time to make a decision.
In these words, Jesus is urging Israel to make a decision.
②. Repentance - a passive appearance of determination Repentance is metanoia, meaning 'convert' or 'turn around'.
In these words of Jesus, we must turn from the former life of Israel and look to the kingdom of God. It means that you have to give up your old thoughts, words, actions and everything and live a completely different life.
Repentance is a change of heart and a change of direction back to God.
These are the words spoken by John and the words spoken by Jesus.
Jesus' first cry, 'Repent', is being heard again in our lives today.
A saint who realizes whether our lives are truly turning toward God or toward God.
③ Believe in the Gospel - An active form of determination.
If John preached the message of judgment, terror, and curse, Jesus' message further tells what the life of the converted and the life of the repentant should be like.
To believe in the gospel means to believe in Jesus as the Messiah and the Son of God.
It means to dedicate yourself completely to him.
I mean, leave it entirely to him.
Only this faith can enter the kingdom of God and receive the kingdom of God.
Jesus' first ministry was to preach the gospel.
The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand, so please repent and become believers in the gospel.
A saint who turns and dedicates himself to the Lord.
2. Jesus calling his disciples, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
Jesus called four fishermen from the Sea of Galilee. You can see the work of Jesus calling his disciples. Jesus does not work alone. He calls disciples, raises them, and works together.
The Lord still wants us to work with our hands.
I hope that you will become a co-worker of the Lord.
① Follow Me The way of the world is for a disciple to learn by following a famous rabbi or teacher.
However, when & raises disciples, the disciples do not come to Jesus, but are called by &. & called them fishermen and made them his disciples.
② I will make you fishers of men. What were the disciples called to do? He called them to make them fishers of men.
The disciples were not called for ease, but to work, and their job was to do what the Lord was doing.
The disciples were no longer to be fishermen of fish, but fishermen of dying souls.
③ The disciple who was called was devoted.
He left his profession, he left all his tools, he left his father and everything.
followed the Lord.
Jesus' second ministry and second cry was to make disciples.
The voice of the Lord is coming to me now.
A believer who follows the Lord and becomes a fisher of men.
The two aspects of Jesus' ministry were evangelism and discipleship.
This is the task that the church must bear today, and it is the task that leaders must bear.
