Title: precious bowl
Bible: Mark 10:29-30
“Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left houses or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the gospel will not receive a hundredfold in this time, and with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.”
Starting Point of the Word>>
This time, we would like to share the sermon under the title of “Precious Vessel” through the words of the text.
God wants us to use it as a precious vessel through us as saints.
However, it is not using anyone as a precious vessel, but using those who have passed the stage of training that God prepares.
That training means training to get rid of all attachment to oneself, attachment to the body, and attachment to the world, and to rely only on God.
Yehwa>>I went to the Ceramics World Expo last week.
However, one of the most important things in the process of making pottery is the tempering process of fire.
Ceramics that have been well-tempered in a hot fire boast their beauty and stand on the exhibition site, but those that do not withstand the heat of the fire are broken and thrown away.
Today's text tells us to endure such training well.
And it says that He promises eternal life to those who have successfully overcome this training process.
Through the words of the Bible, we can often see that the precious vessel that God uses is trained in faith like this.
Abraham had to leave the mainland, his relatives, and his father's house to receive God's blessing.
Moses trained in the wilderness of Midian for 40 years to become a leader in Israel.
The Israelites had to go through 40 years of training in the wilderness to enter the land of God called Canaan.
The same is true of our religious life.
There are times when we face many trials and tribulations before we can be used as precious vessels of God.
However, we must remember that it is a training process for God to use us as precious vessels after we have been trained.
Today, while listening to the Word, I ask in the name of the Lord that you and the members of the church will realize what kind of training God has prepared to use you as a precious vessel and experience God's abundant grace.
Go to Word>>
So, what is God's purpose in training us?
First, it consists in looking only at God.
It is not God's will to see the world.
It is not God's will to seek the way of the world.
We need a theocratic faith that only looks at God.
The reason that the Israelites wandered for 40 years in the wilderness and lived in a tent is a tent life that can be easily done and erected, and it is training them to live by looking only at God, not clinging to the world or being fixed.
So is our life.
The psalmist confesses, “I lift up my eyes to the mountains.”
Our eyes of faith should always be directed only toward God.
When you look at the world, you become greedy in the flesh and live according to your own will.
In the name of the Lord, I ask that the members who were with us during this time of worship today have the faith to look only at God.
Second, it has the purpose of trusting and relying only on God.
Israel, who was living in the wilderness, made a golden calf when Moses went up to Mount Sinai.
We are making our own idols in front of life's problems.
After worrying about what to eat, what to wear, and where to sleep, he makes his own idol to comfort him.
But God is a jealous God, and He is angry because of it.
The text also promises, “He who forsakes your lands or parents or children or brothers or sisters will receive a hundredfold reward, but eternal life.”
Do not make the conditions and circumstances of our life your idol.
The reason that the Israelites, who were living in the wilderness, gathered enough manna every day and could not save any more, was to teach them how to live by trusting and relying only on God without being attached to the world.
Peter was used as a precious vessel because he left the boat and net and followed the Lord, leaving his wife and children behind.
When he was obsessed with the world, he lived in a small clay house by the sea, but after he devoted himself completely to the Lord, he was used as a disciple of the Lord.
We need to get rid of the idols we see toward the world and live a life of trusting and relying only on God.
At that time, my life was full of support and overflowing with gratitude.
Third, the purpose is to discover and live God's will.
God's final will and purpose is to establish us in eternal life.
But people do not know the grace of God when they are in peace.
When there was peace in front of Israel living in the wilderness, they did not seek God, but when difficulties arose before them, they sought God and sometimes complained.
Even when we are in peace, we do not know God's will, but when we are in trouble and difficulty, we pray and seek God's will and help.
To be used as a precious vessel is to put the will of God into the vessel of your faith.
At the end of the speech>>
To sum up the words,
In the name of the Lord, I ask that the saints who are living together in worship today will be used as precious vessels.
I hope that you will become well-behaved believers by realizing that God is training you to use me as a precious vessel, even if you face difficulties and difficulties at times.
In order to do that, we must understand the purpose of God's training for us, as he gave us today.
We must become believers who look to God, who believe and depend on God, and who discover God's will and live according to that purpose.
I ask in the name of the Lord that I and the saints will be used as precious vessels through the God who has chosen us today too.
