Joseph and Mary go to Bethlehem to register, but cannot find a place to stay. In the end, there is no room and the Messiah lies in a manger. God the Creator could not find a space to lie down on his own body. The ruler of the universe came in the form of a small, fragile baby.
1. Are there any vacant rooms?
Joseph and Mary, who went to Bethlehem to register, looked for a place to stay, but could not find it. Because there was no room to stay in the inn. When they arrived in Bethlehem, Mary was already full term. In the end, Jesus was born in a rough place, and there was no place to put the baby, so he laid Jesus in a manger. The life of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came to redeem mankind, began in the manger. Jesus sympathized with the weakness and suffering of human beings who were placed in a lowly situation because of sin. Jesus knows the inner circumstances of human beings very well. Even in the midst of hardship, we must live a life that does not become discouraged, relying on Christ who knows our circumstances and situation well.
2. Good News of Great Joy
The angel announces the birth of the Lord like this. “The angel said to them. Don't be afraid. I bring you news that will bring great joy to all the people” (verse 10). In this way, the birth of Jesus is good news of great joy for all the people and for all people. The Messiah came to this earth in human form. The baby is a symbol of peace and humility. He came into the world as humble and lowly. He came not to be served, but to serve. He is God, but he also came to this earth as a friend of all who can be easily met. Anyone can meet Jesus, poor or rich, intelligent or ignorant. Everyone who encounters Him has salvation and eternal life. That is the good news of great joy. Be the saints who spread this good news.
3. Glory to God, Peace on Earth
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those whom the Lord loves” (verse 14). Angels praise the birth of Jesus as a glory to God. The birth of Jesus was good news that brought glory to God and peace to mankind. Jesus came to this earth to remove the barrier of sin between God and man and to give him peace that can only be obtained from a state of reconciliation with God. Everyone on this earth needs the peace from the Lord. Even today, the world is groaning from war, poverty, and famine. We must tell them the Lord of Peace so that everyone on this earth can enjoy true peace.
Just like Bethlehem of that year, 2000 years ago, when it was busy and busy, Christmas in this age is still busy and busy. However, for this Christmas, I hope that you prepare a space for Jesus to stay in the heart of our hearts, receive and worship Him who has come as the Prince of Peace, and make it a Christmas of celebration.
<Prayer>
1. Prepare an empty room for Jesus to stay in the heart of our hearts, and let it be a Christmas to welcome and worship the Lord who has come as the Prince of Peace!
2. Let the rivers of living water overflow from the Yebut pulpit and fill the whole world!
3. Heal the weak members of the church and save the unbelieving families so that they can achieve the fame of faith!
