Prepare before winter comes (2 Timothy 4:21)
We hear a lot of talk about ubiquity. If you go to a military base, a police station, or a fire station, you can see that it is written in large letters as Yubi Muhwan. It means that disasters (tribulation) can be prevented by preparing for the future.
We live in a country with four distinct seasons. The change of the four seasons makes life more meaningful. Because the four seasons are like the process of life. We are always ready for the new season, but we have to prepare more before winter comes.
Spring is a beautiful season for sowing and flowering. Speaking of spring as life, it is adolescence.
Summer is the season to nurture and nurture what you sow. For this reason, it can be compared to the days of young adults who have dreams and are active.
Autumn is the old age of life. Autumn is the season to reap what you sow and nurture. Autumn is the fruiting season. It is the time to find the kernel, the time when all things are settled. Autumn is the season when all grains are plentiful and leisurely.
A Japanese proverb says that when the persimmon turns red, the doctor's face turns blue, because he is healthy and does not have to go to the hospital.
Winter is the end of life. Death comes. Last. Winter is the season when the breath of life disappears and activity is inactive. Therefore, we will have to work hard before the time when we cannot work comes.
On a day when you can't work, regret means nothing. He who does not sow in spring will not reap in autumn, and he who does not toil in summer will not reap abundantly in autumn. You will have to plant a lot of good seeds in the spring of your life and work hard in the summer.
The four seasons of the year come and go in order and orderly. After spring, summer always comes, and then autumn comes. But life is not like that. Here are the regrets of life. Some people live through all four seasons of their lives, while others meet the winter of their lives before autumn arrives.
There is an order when you are born, and there is an order for cold water, but not when you die. One thing is certain, winter is sure to come to any life.
Winter also comes between the couple. Never forget that there will come a time when you try to love, but there will come a time when you cannot be good even if you try to be filial to your parents. do.
Raise your eyes and look at the sky, in this dizzying world
Everywhere I hear the groaning of a broken spirit
Many people who have lost their light are lost and wandering
I am exhausted like the prodigal son
Now we have to listen to the voices of our family, relatives and neighbors who say, “Welcome before winter.” The moans of “find me (save) me before our lives are lost forever.” Gwansan-dong, Goyang-dong, Wondang, Ilsan Isn't it coming from the outskirts or from our close friends?
Now, the voice of ‘Come before winter’ is the cry of countless people who do not believe in God. Even at the bottom of that hell, I am appealing to my brother to tell me about God before this terrible winter of judgment comes.
The rich man and Lazarus died together. But one went to hell and the other went to heaven. As the rich man struggles in Hell, he pleads, "Father Abraham, I beg you, send Lazarus to my father's house, and bear witness to us that there are five of my brothers, so that they will not come to this place of torment." Preach before you die. It's useless after death.
In a slum in Tokyo, River Pungeon was dying of tuberculosis. The missionary knocked on the door with a tract. Then, a soft voice was heard from the room. It was saying, “Please don’t come in because there is an epidemic.” However, the missionary opened the door and said, “The love of Jesus, which is more frightening than the epidemic, enters.” And when he delivered the love of God to a young man, Ha Cheon Pung-eon, who is suffering from tuberculosis, he gained hope from despair and came to life and decided to dedicate the rest of his life to God. He later remembered the missionary as a lifesaver. What would have happened if the missionary had not introduced Jesus (the Gospel) at that time? Even now, from every nook and cranny of the planet, the cry to come before winter shines brightly.
Evangelism, prayer, church service, worship service! work hard If you don't do it now, there will come a time when you can't do it even if you want to. There's a difference between not doing it and not doing it.
If you do not believe in God now, there will come a time when you will not believe in God. Frozen winter ground yields no harvest even after sowing. There is a time, there is a time, and there is an opportunity. After this time, it will be of no use.
If you miss these hours, it will be over. I pray that you will become a useful worker for the kingdom of God (heaven) before the winter of your life comes. Amen.
There is a time for everything, so the monster of opportunity is like a hair in the front and like a tail in the back, so it is difficult to grasp. Otherwise we will regret it. But the time to regret is already too late. No matter how much you regret it, it is of no use. The saints should not leave any foolish mistakes.
The autumn of nature comes again, but the autumn of life does not come again. Life is one way. Life is a road that, once passed, cannot come back. Life is something you can't live again like you practice. In winter it is unavoidable.
Before that day comes, when I open my eyes, I read the Bible (just like when we get sick, we go to the hospital to live and get injections and take medicine, we have to live without dying forever, so we read the word of life (crude medicine) that God prescribed this morning.) You need to eat a lot (Rev 1:3 says “…blessed are those who read the Word, those who hear it, and those who keep it”),
Before your legs tremble, you have to go to church well, and when you have the strength to work, you must devote your hands, feet, and whole body to working. We should all love each other, be reconciled to the best of our ability in life rather than a wreath in death, and solve any misunderstandings or suspicions. Hurry up and do a lot of good things.
Because. This is because each of us faces a winter that we never know when it will come. I will live my life while preparing for the winter of my life.
So, which season are you in now?
In the text, the Apostle Paul asks Timothy, “Come quickly before winter comes” (2 Timothy 4:21). Inconvenient winters come to us regardless of whether we like it or not. Therefore, we should not commit the foolishness of praying that the winter of life will not come, but rather we should prepare/prepare for the winter of life.
Later, I heard that the doctor had been treating him all day and was too tired, so he went into the room and rested by himself. Death is unannounced. One day, suddenly...
Many people around us take it for granted that we wake up in the morning, but in fact, waking up is a miracle and God has given us life extension.
Just as winter comes silently, the winter of our lives also comes silently.
So, if you look at the words of the Bible, it refers to life as a stranger (Genesis 47:9), like a shadow (1 Chronicles 29:15), like a flower (Job 14:2), like a dream (Job 20:8), like a mist. (James 4:14), like a tent (2 Peter 1:14), etc.
The Bible says in Psalm 90:10, “Even though our years are seventy, and if we are strong, we are eighty, their pride is only toil and sorrow, but they go quickly, and we fly away.”
Life is short-lived. Even the heroic ho-girls, who had great honor and wisdom, died. So, don't brag about your health, don't be vigilant about being young, and I wish you all the best in preparing for the winter of your life. Amen.
As the winter of life drew near, the apostle Paul reflected on himself and came to a beautiful conclusion. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; from now on there is prepared for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that day” (2 Timothy 4:7-8). .
These words are the conclusion of his life. Like the apostle Paul, we should be able to say these words at the end of our lives.
Here are the last words of the people who made the world shine when they left the world (death).
Hus, the pioneer of reform, “welcomes this flame for God” amid burning flames, the American revivalist Moody, who died, “the world is far away, and the heaven is nearer”, and Boud, the founder of the Salvation Army, “the promise of God is Matthew Henry said, “The life I spent serving God and communion with Jesus was the most peaceful and joyful life”, Luther the Reformer “I put my spirit into the hands of God”, and his assistant Melangton “ My wish is only the kingdom of God.”
In the 2nd century AD, a devout saint was being forced to renounce his faith before the emperor. But the emperor could not break his faith. Even if he said, “If you do not renounce your faith, I will expel you.” The saint smiled and said, “Your Majesty will never be able to separate me from Jesus.” “Who will separate us from the love of Jesus? Tribulation or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword” (Romans 8:35). Even when he threatened, “Then I will confiscate your property,” the saint said, “Your Majesty, that won’t work either. My treasure is laid up in heaven, and your Majesty will never be able to touch it.” Then the emperor became furious and exclaimed: “I will kill you.” Then the saint calmly said, “I have been dead with Jesus to the world for the past 40 years, so my life is hidden with Jesus in God. Therefore, your Majesty will not be able to touch it any more.” How cool are you?
The winter of life must come to everyone. How can you neglect your winter preparations in your life even though you know how to make kimchi? I know how to love my house that needs to be emptied after living for a while, but why are you planning on investing in that heavenly house where you should live forever?
Those who prepare for the winter of life will be happy in winter (death). Those who do not prepare for winter will be very cold, painful, and painful.
We are ! We are ! We are ! I pray that you will become wise saints who prepare before the winter of life comes. - Amen -
