Title: Prepare the Crown of Righteousness

2 Timothy 4:1-8 Prepare the crown of righteousness. Subject: 39. Loyalty, Mission 2008. 2. 24.

Introduction

: A servant of God must devote himself to the strict command to preach the word of God and to engage in ministry.

Preach the Word. - “In season or out of season” (God’s Word gives us lasting hope)

* Be sober, endure hardships, and fulfill the work and duties of an evangelist

1. Preach the Word (1~2)

2. Be sober (3~5)

3. A crown was prepared for righteousness. (6-8)

1. Preach the Word (1~2)

What to preach ① The Word of the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

② God's love (John 3:16, ...)

③ God's mercy (Ephesians 2:4-7)

④ Resurrection and Judgment (Matthew 25:31-46, John 5:28-30, )

One). Reasons for strict orders (1)

God and Christ inspect.

① The Lord judges the living and the dead. (* The mission of evangelism * Judgment whether or not to carry out the ministry of preaching the word)

* Our concern is “how well done!” to be. (Matthew 16:27, Acts 10:42, 17:31, Romans 14:10, 2 Corinthians 5:10)

② The Lord appears in glory.

* “appears” means the glorious and visible appearance of the Lord (the servant of the Lord prepares by preaching the word).

(Phil 2:9~11, Matthew 24:44, Luke 19:13, 1 Corinthians 1:7, 4:5, 1 Thessalonians 5:3, ...)

③ The Lord will establish his own eternal and eternal kingdom. (1 John 2:28)

* The servant of the Lord is determined by his position and class according to his loyalty in this world. : Preaching the Word (Luke 22:29-30)

2) Preach the Word (2)

The point is the obsessive mind. (It must be a passion that devotes his entire life.) Why?

* God’s chosen way to save people (1 Corinthians 1:18,21) “by the foolishness of evangelism”

* Ministers have a responsibility to preach the word (1 Corinthians 9:16) “For I must do it.”

The position and position of a minister is determined by how faithfully he preaches. therefore

Obedience (preaching the Word) is a solemn command (Matthew 10:7, 27,).

Always do your best whether you have time or not.

* It is our mission to strive to spread the word, regardless of whether the minister's situation is smooth or difficult.

* A preacher cannot escape his duty on the excuse that he did not find the time to preach the word.

3) Do it with patience and teaching (2)

① Rebuke

* It refers to leading a person to repent of their sins and to confess and repent.

④ Be vigilant

* “Severe, harsh, rebuke that can even hint at punishment”. (1 Timothy 5:20, Titus 1:9, 2:15)

③ recommend

* Ministers should encourage, comfort, help, and lead the person to Christ.

* Never harbor resentment and anger and never give up. (John 21:17, 1 Corinthians 13:4, Hebrews 3:13, 1 Peter 5:2)

2. Be sober (3~5)

① People will not receive sound doctrine (precepts, teachings, doctrines of the Bible)

* Most people believe that Jesus Christ is the only Savior and the only Mediator, that anyone can be saved and turn to God.

I don't like to hear that it's the only acceptable path.

* They do not agree with the truth, or do not want to be enlightened or think about it.

(John 7:16-17,...1 Timothy 1:3-4,..)

② People will want teachers who will allow them to live as they wish.

* If we hope in such things as being saved from evil and death and endowed with eternal life in the new heavens and new earth, it will be

It must be from God. This is God's message, the glorious gospel.

* God's servants must preach the Word right now, when the time is not yet fulfilled.

* We must preach diligently and with the power of the indwelling Spirit.

2. Be sober in all things (5) - Because you have to complete and fulfill the ministry

“Sober” Keep calm and alert, keep a cool, calm mind, maintain a controlled and disciplined lifestyle and mental attitude.

Ministers must be disciplined and trained in all aspects (body, mind and spirit, thoughts, words and actions) (Matthew 26:41, Acts 20:31,...)

① Ministers must suffer.

* To endure adversity, hardships, problems, difficulties, and evil things “you have to suffer”.

* Rather than hanging out with the crowds, we should choose the lonely path of walking with Jesus. (Mt 10:22, 1 Corinthians 15:58),

② A minister must do the work of an evangelist.

* A minister should not focus on evangelism, but strive to win souls in everything he does.

* The core of the ministry is that in all preaching, teaching, and in everything we do, God is His Son,

It preaches the fact that people will be saved and will be judged through the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8, 4:20,...).

③ A minister must complete and fulfill (completely) his work.

* “Ministry” encompasses all forms of service. (Avoid indolence and laziness) (John 4:34, Acts 20:24, 28,...)

3. The crown of righteousness has been prepared (Paul's testimony) (6~8)

Because Paul knew that he would be executed by Nero, he preached the word of God to Timothy and lost his way.

Hemei issues a stern order to serve a dying world.

1) Paul's death (6)

“I will pour out my soul by dying for the Lord Jesus Christ.

My physical life and blood will be sacrificed to spread the word of God.

I will sacrifice my life to Christ Jesus, my Lord. That is, as the most sacrificial act

I will throw my life away I will die for him.”

2) Paul's glorious witness (7)

It was described as a soldier (loyal soldier), a racer (the race of life), and a steward (taking care of the house, property, keeping the faith).

3) Receive the crown of righteousness as a reward (8)

The only way for a person to be accepted by God is to receive the crown of righteousness from God.

* Paul was given the crown of righteousness because he devoted his life to being a soldier, a racer, and a steward.
