Bible Text: Mark 10:35-40

Principles of Baptism

I am going to preach on the topic of “The Principle of Wealth” for five weeks from today. A principle is a fundamental law. The norms that underlie some behavior are called principles. You need to know the principle of wealth to become wealthy. I wish you all wealth.

Health is called ‘health’ and wealth is called ‘wealth’. Wealth is a different concept from rich people who only have a lot of money. He had plentiful means, gave a lot to the poor, and was not stingy with God.

Job was a wealthy man. He said, “Have you noticed my servant Job? There is no one in the world who is so innocent and upright, who fears God and turns away from evil.” Job had seven sons and three daughters, and was a man of great wealth and spiritual resources. The Bible speaks of Job as the greatest of the men of the East.

Baptism makes us rich. The principle of baptism and wealth are closely related. He who has ears to hear, let him hear! Please listen to these words and apply them to become rich.

Water baptism for cleansing

Baptism means washing with water. At the baptism ceremony, “I baptize those who believe in Jesus, 0 0 0 with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit!” It also means “God the Trinity washes away sins!” An impure individual, an unclean nation cannot be rich. Even if he gets rich by stealing, he is not called rich. If he has accumulated wealth by lying and fraudulent fraud, he will not be called rich, but filthy rich.

The country where Hiddink was raised, the Netherlands, is a small country with a population of 15 million and the total land area of South and North Gyeongsang Provinces. 70% are Christians, of which 65% are Protestants and 35% are Catholics. Most of the Protestants are members of the Dutch Reformed Church. In other words, Calvin's Reformed Church is leading the Netherlands.

There is a Dutch proverb that says, “God created the heavens and the earth, and we created the Netherlands”.

In the Netherlands, one-third of the land is lower than the sea, so dams are blocked to open up land and live. When you think of the Netherlands, you think of windmills and tulips. They made land by blocking the sea and pumping water with windmills. Created land for dairy cows to graze on. They have nurtured strong bodies to conquer the land. They learn to swim and sail from a young age to conquer the water, and learn to play soccer to conquer the land. In winter, skate hundreds of kilometers of canals. It is our destiny to live only when we have the pioneer spirit of the Puritan faith in one hand and strong physical strength in the other.

As a Western proverb says, “You have to know the Netherlands to see the world. There is a saying. It is to learn the life philosophy and economic sense of Dutch people who have awakened to globalization.

The Dutch do not cover their windows with curtains or blinds even at night. The windows are 2-3 times larger than in Korea, so if you turn on the lights at night, you can see the house clearly. Thorough self-management to live clean and transparent lives in their hearts. They are so honest. Take good care of your own life and behavior.

The Netherlands gained independence from Spain after a war of independence from the end of the 16th century to the beginning of the 17th century. The Puritan spirit that pioneered the Americas became the Dutch spirit as the Reformed Church was established following Calvin, the reformer who overthrew corrupt Catholicism.

One-tenth of the government's budget is used to aid poor countries such as Africa, Eastern Europe, and South America. It comes from the Christian tithe. The productivity of Dutch workers cannot be matched by neither the United States nor Japan. It is a country of talent. College graduates speak three or four languages. In countries such as France, Spain and Germany, they pay double their annual salary. The ransom is expensive because he has the diligent mind and skills that he has been working on part-time since he was in school.

Hiddink officially earned 4 billion won in 1 year and 6 months in Korea. Unofficially, it is said that he made 10 billion won. It is a country of talent. Talent creates wealth. Cleanliness is the capital of wealth. If you are unclean, you will corrupt, and if you are corrupt, you will fall. Clean people, honest companies, and a transparent society are the foundations of a prosperous country.

Baptism with fire

Jesus went to John to be baptized. “John was perplexed and said, I must be baptized by you, and are you coming to me? Jesus said, “Give it now, for it is fitting for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John gave permission. After Jesus was baptized, as soon as he came up out of the water, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. Then there came a voice from heaven, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:14-17).

“I baptize with water, but he who is coming after me is more powerful than I, and he will baptize with the Holy Spirit and with fire” (Matthew 3:11). Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit and with fire. The Holy Spirit and fire are synonymous. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is called the baptism of fire.

Jesus said, “I have come to cast fire on the earth; if it had already been kindled, what more could I want?” (Luke 12:49).

You must receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit to love God fervently. The Holy Spirit supplies mental and psychological strength with spiritual strength, not physical strength. There is a saying "If you can't break it, break it". I cannot break me, but the Holy Spirit does. The Spirit is dynamic. It has the power of blasting like dynamite.

The Holy Spirit is like fire. Fire is passion. What makes life is more passion than talent or planning. Passion comes from the Holy Spirit. Success requires the power that passion provides. Without passion, we have no choice but to succumb to difficulties and difficulties. Passion makes you want to win. You can't be a winner if you don't want to win.

The greatest loss to a person is the death of the inside while he is alive. You need a fire inside to bring it to an unparalleled level. President Kennedy is a symbol of unquenchable fire. There is always a fire burning in his grave. Passion creates success. In order to light a fire somewhere, you must first have an embers. You can't set anyone's heart on fire until a fire burns from within. What attracts people is passion.

It is the passion of Jesus that the Apostle Paul was captured by Christ. When he came to the persecutor and said, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" When you receive the Holy Spirit, passion arises, passion becomes the energy of life, and that energy makes life rich.

Baptism of Death to Glory

Jesus was baptized with water and the Holy Spirit. But again, he said, “I have a baptism to be baptized, and what will my frustration be until it is fulfilled?” (Luke 12:50).

The baptism that Jesus will receive is death. Does Jesus' frustration avoid death? It's because of what you're doing.

"Dad! Father! All things are possible with you; remove this cup from me. But not as I will, but as you will” (Mark 14:36).

“My Father, if this cup cannot pass from me except I drink it, it may be done as you will (Luke 26:42).

When Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus, brought the army, the chief priests, and the Pharisees to the place of Jesus with lamps and torches and weapons, Peter drew his sword and struck the high priest's servant, and his right ear was cut off.

Then Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into its sheath. Shall I not drink the cup that the Father has given me?” (John 18:10-11).

James and John the sons of Zebedee asked Jesus. “He said, “In your glory, let us sit, one at your right hand and the other at your left. Jesus said to them, You do not know what you are asking. You will drink of the cup I drink, and you will be baptized with me; but it is not I who will give you to sit at my left or right side, but for whomever it is prepared, they will receive it. (Mark 10:35-40)

They are seeking their own desires. He wanted glory not shame, a crown not a cross, a ruler rather than a slave. Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you are asking. You said.

“Forty-seven people, including the Cheonan sailor and Lieutenant Han Joo-ho, became stars in the sky. However, the Cheonan incident has become politically football.”

Jesus looked at the temple in Jerusalem and said, "Destroy it, and I will raise it up in three days." Those words were spoken by Jesus referring to his body that was the temple (John 219-21). What greater love is there than the love that lays down one's life for a friend, and no patriotism greater than one who gave up his life while fighting the enemy for his country?

Jesus endured the cross and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. The glory of Jesus was gained through death. He was baptized with the cup of death and ascended to the throne of resurrection and glory.

Apollos was a Jew, and he was good at speaking and fluent in the Bible. He was good at teaching about Jesus. But Apollos only knew the baptism of John (Acts 18:24-25). You must not remain baptized with water. You must be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

You must be baptized with the Holy Spirit to live a passionate life with passion. We must cast out demons and do good works. We must lead unbelievers and discouraged people to the church.

“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up” (John 3:14). Jesus was crucified. He was crucified like a copper serpent hanging from a pole. Those who look to Jesus will be saved. If you live with the principle of baptism as the principle of your life, you will become rich. God wants us to be rich. Washed and cleansed, with the zeal of the Holy Spirit, if you die, you will die! Please be rich by the principle of triple baptism.
